CHELSEA are ready to make a stunning £60million move for Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Blues will offer Inter £50m plus Ricardo Carvalho and Deco in exchange for the Swedish star.
And Ibrahimovic has confirmed he is considering the dramatic switch from the San Siro to Stamford Bridge.
He said: "I am fully aware that Chelsea want to sign me and, of course, it is very flattering. They are one of the biggest teams in Europe and the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world."
Chelsea want to make at least one marquee signing for new boss Carlo Ancelotti.
And the deal would double the cost of Chelsea's current record signing, £30m to AC Milan for Andrei Shevchenko.
Billionaire boss Roman Abramovich is ready to bankroll another huge Blues' spending spree.
Even the mega-rich oligarch was said to have been taken aback by Ibrahimovic's wages of £10m a year at Inter, which dwarf those of skipper John Terry and midfielder Frank Lampard, who are currently the top Chelsea earners.
But Ibrahimovic has been quick to claim that the proposed move is not about money. He insisted: "Money is not the most important thing. I will base my decision on what's good for me, what suits me.
"It is about asking: will I still be able to be special in the league that I am going to, the team I am going to? Are my qualities right for the Premier League or not?"
Ibrahimovic intends to talk with Inter chief Massimo Moratti and coach Jose Mourinho about his future this week as he returns for pre-season training.
Chelsea fly to the USA later this week for a four-match pre-season tour and would love the Swede on board by then.
The Blues worst fear is that the deal could drag on, with Inter reluctant sellers.

The thing is that u cant relate his international performance, ( even though he has a bigger goal rate than ronaldo in port) because sweden doesnt have a good team. Second thing is that he scored 25 goals in Serie A which is a league with a great defence and also Ibra did score a lot of his goals on his own. He is behind every goal in Inter with a lot of assists. He is a flexible player and belive me, he would conquer england. And no NOT drogba and zlatan togheter, u mean zlatan with Anelka. Drogba only had one great season, if u want to say something else i want to relate to the chances he had against barca. Im sure that ibra would have scored and the keeper wouldnt even see the ball pass him

It's baffle me why people will not think of Michael Essien's replacement in case he is not fit for a much but rather talking of people who don't tackle when they loose ball possession. The problem with chelsea is that they look down upon Michael but I tell you he is the soul of the team. You remember when he got injury for three months, things was bad for chelsea and that necessitated the sacking of Coach Phil Scolari because non of his so called big stars in the team can occupied the vacuum Essien left. If you like bring all the best strikers to chelsea and don't increase Essien weekly salary and let him ask for transfer and you will see the worst of chelsea team. A word to a wise is enough. Off load Mikel because he a waste and bring back Diara form Real or better player.

If zlatan signs "the potential" contract with chelsea i dont know what to feel, its kinda mixed. If he chooses to stay in inter i know we will dominate next season aswell. If he makes up his mind by moving to Premier Leauge it will prove all persons who doubt in this talents/skills that they're so wrong about serie-A and especially Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Steffano, Berbatov was a £30m flop, Ibra WILL BE a £70m flop. Thats the difference! Messi has scored against english opposition...Did u not watch CL final 20 minutes from time? Didnt think so! Serie A was a brilliant league (10 years ago) a few talented young stars emerge as top players, but, they are distinguished players within that league. I honestly dont believe Ibra is worth £70m, maybe £15-20m but come on, face the facts, he was rubbish in big games and his goalscoring record cannot be replicated in any shape or form in the best league in the world (Premier League - incase you needed reminding) For £70m you want someone who will win you games and turns up every game why not spend money Ribery??? A very talented young striker Frank Nouble has turned down the chance to turn pro at the Bridge because he does not feel he will ever get a chance. We must start to give youth a Chance. The only way we should get Ibra is in straight swap for Drogba as they would not make a good pair.

I don't care if that's your reasoning.. it's a pathetic one, Berbatov was twice as bad as Ibrahimovic but receives 100x less criticism because they know how good Ibrahimovic can be they have to slate him when he doesn't deliver for the EPL brand camera's called Sky Sports you hear Andy Gray spout some rubbish and the whole of England agrees with it. No wonder your country thinks Gerrard is Lampard X2 when it has indeed always been the other way round. Foreign players get a lack of respect from English fans which is why we are so repulsed by the league. No, Roman will not be financing such a massive transfer himself. This can only happen if the club receive the distinctly generous £35 million or so transfer fee for John Terry ("oh please don't go John" Yeah right!), as well as selling Carvalho and others (is Paulo Ferreira still registered as a player?). Zlatan is good in Italy, but he would naturally be a gamble to bring to England, like any striker. Let's hope he's the next Shevchenko...

Steffano, the reason people from england have the impression that Ibrahimovic is overated is the fact that he hasnt done anything against the english clubs when he has played us. To call the english cocky is an understatement. I am english and i think the premier league will dominate for years to come, i have no problem being "cocky". I hope chelsea do sign hom for x amount because whatever they pay will be more than they should for a player who is just lazy. When the chips are down and the going gets tough, ibrohimavic just hides and dissapears out of games. Let italy keep him. All you ultras are welcome to him. Oh and another thing "13 seasons"?? I totally agree with you Steffano. I am so tired of these Zlatan haters, especially people from UK. I agree that EPL is the best league in the world but you guys act like all players who make this league so good are all british - therefore you sound damn cocky. Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney are the only ones in the premiership who is good and can be compared to Zlatan. The dude got amazing pace, amazing "football mind" really good shot, got unarguably the best technique (probably Ronaldinho challenging him), tall, really good physic, really good ball control, good in the air, ( also gets marked by 2-3 players, which opens up for his team mates ) he is FAST but not as fast as Messi or C.Ronaldo but hey what do you expect? A player to be PERFECT? Plus he 192 CM TALL find me a soccer player that tall and with those qualites and I will shut up forever. Torres and Villa I like them very much and they are in top 3 strikers in my list - yes they score really much but look at what TEAMS they play for and their NATIONAL TEAM while he plays for Sweden and Inter - yeah both crap. I am a Swede myself and I sometimes feel sorry for Zlatan since he is the only one is world class and the rest just can't give him something PROPER to work on! It's like you are at work and if you don't get anything to work on none can blame you "WHY ARENT YOU WORKING?" To work you have to be given something to work with.

Before I hear the overrated comments about Ibrahimovic from the ignorant among us who judge a player on 4 games against England's elite (2 of which he played with injury and the other 2 against the best defensive pairing in the world and still managed to play pretty well)
He has scored 57 goals in 88 appearances for Inter in 13 seasons that is hugely impressive now add in the fact he has directly assisted 32 goals and was part of a team build up assist 49 times... he has contributed 138 goals in 3 seasons.
I am an Inter fan and he would be a huge loss but if he is to move to the Premiership then this is the club for him so he can dominate the Premier League and haunt the Utd and Liverpool fans who once mocked him who would then fear him like the rest of Serie A Does.
Purchase of the summer if Chelsea manage to get him as him and Drogba would be unstoppable.
