Manchester City have made a second move for the England skipper with a £30million offer.
But Chelsea will only do business at a staggering £45m - and only if Terry admits to the fans he wants to quit Stamford Bridge. That's the no-nonsense response from new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti on the day he takes charge.
He's being backed by owner Roman Abramovich, who is not impressed by the way City's swoop for Terry has overshadowed the arrival of the Italian coach.
Officially Chelsea still insist that Terry, 29 this year, is not for sale at any price and will be held to his contract which runs until 2012.
With City ready to make a third approach at £45m, privately key figures at the Stamford Bridge club are dismayed by Terry's reluctance to quash the transfer talk.

At best they fear he will use the speculation to negotiate a new deal at Chelsea. He has three years to run on his existing £140,000 a week contract.
Chelsea might consider an increase but are adamant they will not match City's £280,000 a week deal.
The Blues are determined that if Terry, who has spent years cultivating his 'Mr Chelsea' image, does want to quit they will insist he puts a transfer request in writing to prove it.

I am a die hard Chelsea fan. I think TJ should go but before he leaves, he should be made to handover transfer request. Part of the money realised from his transfer should be used to buy Bruno Alves from Port. Up Chelsea!!!!! 4 life.

JT has to be rational as he all we say but what about the fam and oppurtunities of getting to higher heights found in chealsea like playing the champions leaguea which man city has not got.
By tangti johnpaul.. Posted July 14 2009 at 7:17 PM.
As a big Chelsea fan, i think JT is a bit overrated.
He does not have the quick reflexes... and is much better at screaming at his teammates. no player is above the team. let him put in his transfer request or else stop playing childish games; especially when the team needs to focus and prepare. Lampard deserves to be captain anyways.
Either way the poor fans will continue to suffer the higher ticket and merchandise prices.

John terry should not go to city. if he goes to city, he will loss the chances of playing regularly in the champions league. Chelsea in a strong English team that is always among the top four English premier league team featuring in the champions league on a yearly basis. But manchester city is a team that fights every season to stay in the premier league. John terry should also know that if he goes to city, there is a probability that he will end every season trophyless as city has less chances of caryying trophies.

chelsea have to be careful if terry goes then is their downfall

JT isn't interested in you stupid cheslea fans and loyalty.........he cares about how much money he earns. Who he earns it with is irrelevent.
By David.. Posted July 10 2009 at 7:53 AM.
Terry is a fool if he does not go. Football is a job, the only question is, do you want to make $140,000 a week or $280,000 a week to do the same job. His loyalty first and formost is to himself and his family! If Chelses values him as much as City, then they should show it by putting there money where there mouth is. If Terry gets hurt and can't play anymore he will wish he had doubled his salary when he could!
By MrBill.. Posted July 9 2009 at 5:30 PM.
For the person that says Eto is going to Man City. No he is not as his dream move would be to come to Manchester United and he's not botherd about the money.!!!!!

John Terry is a legend at chelsea,if he eventually leaves, there wil b a huge gap in chelsea's defence. But chelsea wil fill d gap in time.£45m wil b a plus 2 chelsea's income! Lets 4 once buy cheap and sell big!

JOHN TERRY WILL JOIN MANCHESTER CITY BECAUSE HE IS A MONEY GRABBER, THIS WEEK WILL BE CALLED THE £100 MILLION WEEK.
WATCH OUT THE PREMIER LEAGUE BECAUSE CITY ARE COMING AND COMING QUICKLY ETO'O, TEVEZ, TERRY AND LUCIO!!!!!!!!

i really hope JT doesn't go to city, however i cant be 100% sure, were all human, we all suffer from temptation, or maybe he's frustrated with the backroom and upstairs? or maybe bridge and SWP have been telling him how good it is up at eastlands?
who knows, but i am pretty conifident that he will stay, last time city tried to buy terry he came out and said no i want to finish my career at chelsea, and JT is up there with public figures i respect, probably #1 tbh. and if he does goto man city, i am gonna start following county cricket!
By chris.. Posted July 6 2009 at 8:04 AM.
Assuming City are ready to pay 45m and JT gets a weekly wage of 300k a week, I am of the view Terry should and would kick the prospect. Reason: renouncing loyalty, love and respect of all the people that have so far mattered in your life for the sake of mere money is a losing transaction. And Terry is a winner.
I think the reason JT is loathe to debunk the rumours with some promptitude, is that he is not averse to wheedle a few pennies more per week from Chelsea; a nobler thought that should not be taken too amiss by Chelsea.
By Ajmer Singh Bains.. Posted July 6 2009 at 4:22 AM.
I'm a Chelsea fan, have been for forty odd years. I'll be gutted if JT leaves and because I've always believed in his loyalty. If he leaves for the money, then all the respect he has earned will vanish. I don't wish City any ill, I have always liked them....they play in blue after all.
Ronaldo going to Real Madrid, because he really wants to play for them, but the deal is delayed whilst he negotiates an extra 5% for his image rights. Frankly, the money footballers now want is obscene. They have lost touch with reality, £200k plus a week, more than the majority of fans earn in seven years. If money is the motivation for JT to leave Chelsea then I'm going to start following rugby!!

A little history lesson here is probably in order methinks!
When Abramovich took over Chelsea had seriously over-borrowed ala Leeds United to get there and, if the story as reported at the time is to be believed, were on the verge of administration in days.
So ok City have not bankrupted themselves (so far anyway!) to achieve the 'Holy Grail' of CL football like Leeds. But we have earned the right from our support to sit at the top table. So we may not have won the league for years but I think we still hold the record for league attendance at 84,000 v Stoke City in 1948 I think. So why all the fuss.
We now have a rich owner who can afford to throw his money around ala Abramovich. The finances are sound and the City stadium will soon be increased to 60,000 capacity. Suggests to me that lil Citeh are not so little and this nonsense from the so called 'Big Four' supporters about somehow corrupting the game and not having earned the right to compete is a joke.
Welcome to Globalisation. The Big Four have been far and away the biggest spenders on wages each season so please stop lecturing the rest of us as if we have a real meritocracy here.
City is good for the Prem and European competition too and very soon I suspect we will see the likes of Villa, Everton, Spurs etc break in too as richer kids join the block (well condos rather). Competition is coming back to the football market. That you can bet your replica shirt on. For now tho there is a new blue moon a'rising!

Man City may attract the a few players for stupid money but the best in the world already play for the best clubs and none of them will leave to go to Man City.

How can any man city fans on here say that john terry is over rated? he must have done something right afterall he has won two premier leauge trophies , three fa cups and 3 carling cups at chelsea and also got them to the champions league final ( Something that man city have never done ) not forgeting that he is also england captain!. any way man city are dreaming john terry would never leave chelsea , he is chelsea through and through and specially not for a mid table wanna be club such as man city.
By Joe A.. Posted July 5 2009 at 4:02 PM.
No really bothered bout him signing for City, he should stay loyal to Chelsea and do the right thing. It will be an interesting season having felt this good about City for thirty years! We are at last able to maybe compete after years of mismanagement. We should followe the Chelsea model though after all very similar clubs I remember them being promoted from DIV 2 with us in the late 80s, very similar histories and trophy haul lets face it either of us are elite clubs but just below.

David,
City dont deserve nothing? Who put you in charge of the history books? If Chelsea didnt get the financial help when they did they would be like Leeds/S'mptn are now, and NO amount of silverware/history would have changed it. City, have been taken over by multi billionaire arabs who see City as a future trademark, let alone a club. The same group will soon have a grip on Formula 1 too. It's gonna happen whether you like it or not. 5 years from now every fickle 'let me buy a chelsea shirt cos they keep winning' merchant will be trading it in for a City one. City arabs will own football. It will take time to break through, especially now, the beginning because, yes you're right, they are not challenging anything but that will change. Hard to see right now, but take the Chelski specs off and look at what will come. Rome wasnt built in a day, and this will take time. Its the beginning of the end of the big 'untouchable' 4. Chelsea oil barons will leave too when the ball really starts to roll as they will see no point in investing in things that have no worth, especially when the arabs can outbid/outpay all. Chelsea is Roman's toy and he has financial clout but he will soon get bored of not being able to compete with arabs. Ditto all this to United too. Sad fact is that the arabs will destroy the football we all love. They will rule by sheer wealth that no one can match, eventually having no competition. Hard to see, but sit back and think about it.
By city fan for life.. Posted July 5 2009 at 3:34 PM.
Look people, I've been a City fan all my life, and through thick and thin been just as passionate.Just face it, it's about time we have the chance to be genuinely excited about the prospect of success at last!! If your club, whoever it might be were bought out by mega rich owners who were basically offering you unlimited funds to dominate the world of football. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Say No thanks........... There you go. So stop whinging, concentrate on supporting your own teams and let City get on with their plans. Of course, we are not going to win the league straight away, or even break the top 4 straight away, but it will come and I promise you the tide is turning. City are financially stable, United and Liverpool are in serious trouble should their success begin to dry up as their debts are astronomical.......We'll just have to see....... CTID.............
By Derby Sky Blue.. Posted July 5 2009 at 3:30 PM.
What do City fans think are the targets for next season? Is top 4 realistic. I don't doubt it will come, and as a Utd fan I'm sure I'll get lots of stick, but next season? I would have thought a good cup run, with a strong 5th or 6th would be an excellent season to build on. It would also prove to prospective players that City really will be challenging.
Another thing springs to mind, why is everyone so bothered that a different team now has the greatest spending power? Surely that is good for the league. United and Liverpool have spent millions over rhe last few years, using a business model that carries with it much debt and no small amount of risk. In Liverpool's case they seem, finally, to be challenging, in United's case with great sucess, some/much of which can be credited to the youth teams, the manager etc. Chelsea have come in with a very rich owner but have not had the sucess everyone expected. Only Arsenal in the top 4 seem to spend sensibly. Any competition that opens the league up a little is great, especially if city spend some money within the premiership (to other clubs, not third parties). We talk about history, well City has plenty, they were the biggest club in Manchester until a Matt Busby came to United. Let's not forget, Liverpool were a second division team before Shankley's reign. Preston NE were the most sucessful club in the counrty when the league was first formed. If clubs succeed they make history. Everyone starts somewhere.
By johnny.. Posted July 5 2009 at 3:27 PM.
If JT goes it is good business for both clubs. City get a good defender while chelsea get a huge financial return on a player nearing past the age. In a year or two JT would not worth half that value. But presently it is good business both way. Chelsea have benefit from his service and JT has developed better over the years while at chelsea. So at the end everyone should smile and shake hands. Just like Therey Henry moving form Arsenal to Bacca.

By saad.. Posted July 5 2009 at 3:03 PM.
i think it's all a big joke....1 45 million for a player of JT's quality is an insult considering CR7 is pullin in 80m million. 2 JT is as the articles says MR Chelsea and has been brought up through the chelsea ranks. If he goes for the money then he will probably become very disliked by chelsea fans. I personally dont think any amount of Money would Drag JT away from his beloved chelsea, its in his blood and its the team he loves. The only team i would EVER EVER see JT go to is Arsenal and thats only if Tony Adams was still playing. and even then i dont think he would! 3 is he really going to swap genuine PL challenge, World cup spot and england captaincy and CL year in year out for Man citys bleak threat in any competition!?
By Stinger90.. Posted July 5 2009 at 2:33 PM.
If he wants to go then let him, he is a great leader and motivator but has had some serious back problems in rencent years and his type of commited defending will only add to this risk as he gets older.
Abramovich might see this as an oportunity to shift the power balance at the club, particularly with accelotti wanting to stamp his authority on the players in pre-season.
£45M is a lot of money, but it seems loyalty costs that these days.

just a reminder to say city have not yet had one full year to re-organise the club and bring in the players they think will benifit city, they have brought in one "star" player and yes it will take time to build a winning side, city fans have waited patiently, so a few years more will not worry us, but it appears fans from other clubs must be worried as they have now started moaning about the amount of money city are spending it never worried them when they spent there millions
By chrispy.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:35 AM.
What annoys me about man city is they don't deserve this opporrunity they've been given. When chelsea got bought they'd been making huge strides winning the fa cup twice, the cup winners cup and had broken into the champions league, they were a club on the up and got some vital financial backing at a time when the club was suffering with money. What have city done which justifies the money they now have? They were staring at being relegated again the other year, it's ridiculous. Out of all the clubs i think villa or everton deserve it, they've worked hard and are only just outside the top 4 with little money. City are a joke! And this offering stupid money in wages ia the only reason anyone would consider joining them, i disagree enough with big wages anywhere but their offers are just stupid. At least madrid have a history and heritage that backs up their millions, city don't. It's just a rich mans attempt to challenge man utd which will fail miserably.

Its a competition, so whats wrong with trying to do your best to win it. PS Sepp Blatter is a Prat
By Allen.. Posted July 5 2009 at 1:28 PM.
Alex, You are clearly of higher moral fibre than most people; who are greedy - particularly footballers. If professional pride really matters then Man City will not be able to buy any big time players will they? Let's be serious, why shouldn't they be able to buy the same kind of players as Chumpions League sides ? I remember Blackburn buying Shearer when they were still in the Championship and they won the league the following season. Man City are now 'an ambitious side' so these greedy players can use that as an excuse to lower their standards for a season. City will have their nose in the CL trough soon enough.

"It is a fact that Chelsea were already a top 4 team when bought by Abromovich......" This is true. However you seem to forget the massive debt Chelsea were in and the fact that they were on the verge of doing a 'Leeds Utd'. If RA had not have bought Chelski they would have been unable to service there debts, would have gone into financial freefall and would now be languishing in the lower divisions. Good luck to City I say. All those moaning about them trying to buy quality players are just jealous.

People seem to be ignoring the fact that most City fans don't want John Terry. Chelsea fans shouldn't get annoyed with us, it's not our call. To start slating the money involved is ridiculous, especially as Chelsea have bullied their way through the transfer market in recent years and have only been successful due to serious investment.
Stay where you are, John. Not that anyone with half a brain can fail to see that this is solely an attempt for him to up his wages at Chelsea. By keeping quiet it works in his favour, Chelsea offer him a much-improved deal, his agent gets a few quid, he's painted out to be even more of a Chelsea 'through and through' hero despite admitting in his autobiography that he's a lifelong Man United fan. He's not daft, neither is he very good.

City don't have the attitude to win and you can't buy it at any price. You can have the best players in the world but if they don't gel, then it's all for nothing. And they're not the richest club, they just have the richest owner. Riches are measured by assets, by achievement and by history and City have none of these.

I am a Man City Fan and it seems to me there are a few teams towards the top of the EPL getting there feathers ruffled. Think on this, City have never stated what there intent on any players they are looking at untill they have the signature, as they have learnt their lessons from the KaKa episode! Furthermore, you will note the media are loving all the Excited replies from the fans of our supposed untouchable top four teams. It is very comical listening to the fans bleating(worrying) about what we can and cannot achieve and in some ways understandable, given that we all know what happens when a spoilt child does not get his own way....... :-) Anyway we will go about our business in a professional way and if Terry or any other player we court comes to us, then that is life and we are only playing by the same rules the top four have been using to their advantage for years.
As someone has previously posted, in any walk of life and within the job market, if you were offered mege bucks to leave your job for another, you would do so, that is the real world! So stop slating players who do the same, because for them they are in a job and are one tackle away from loosing that job!!!
There is a new kid on the block, but i think it best for you whingers out there to get behind your own team and stop worrying about the new kid and what he may or may not do in the future!

Sorry Nath but weren't chelski a ' an average, lower end of the table team' before they had millions injected into the clubs, a bit like Man City!!
By dave.. Posted July 5 2009 at 12:55 PM.
How can Terry "quash" these rumours when he is on holiday abroad with his wife and the twins?
Theres no chance of JT leaving he's beloved CFC!
By Mike Long.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:18 AM.
Here's the truth of the matter for Terry and i hope he knows this and doesn't leave Chelsea
He can either
a) Stay at Chelsea win trophies for the next 5 years, be adored by everyone, retire a legend for the club and a great captain for England with a little bit less money. Then maybe get a job coaching or even a job in managing at the club.
or b) he can go to man city and work for 5 years trying to make an average, lower end of the table team good (and fail miserably!), probably lose the England captaincy because city are awful and retire with money but no glory.
End of!
By Nath.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:48 AM.
When Abramovich bought Chelsea, they were third and qualified for the CL. They had recently won the last ever Cup Winners Cup and the FA Cup. If that's what no-mark city fans call mediocre, what does that make coming behind the likes of mighty Fulham and West Ham?
By Blue West.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:55 AM.
Please JT should go to trophyless MC if he want. Better player like Ivanovic, Alex, Manciene etc will replace him and will perform better. Blues 4 life
By EMPEROR.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:05 AM.
Basically why would jt want to go play for a team of rubbish players including robinho when he could stay at Chelsea and win something y did kaka turn down city because they ain't gunna win anything
By Chelsea09.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:15 AM.
City... Please, please, please dont buy J Terry. £40 million for a centre back that is massivly overated and on the decline. We would be just giving Chelski the chance to offload a liability and make some money at the same time. This deal, if it is true, only benefits one team... Chelski...!
By Kinky Newt.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:07 AM.
he´s a bad egg, a bad England captain and Mr Chelsea´s actions are not surprising. I hope he goes. It will prove his loyalty image was always false. He wasn´t loyal to England when he missed key qualifiers when we didn´t get to Europe (but played for Chelsea 3 days later). And now he is proving that it is ALL about money.
And those that say anyone would be stupid to turn down double cash are missing the point. Messi and Xavi would never leave Barca for money. If they would City would have offered them 80 million a piece and would have signed 2 of the worlds top 5 players. Gigs, Scholes, Neville etc would never have left Man United for money. Beckham in fact would never have gone on his own accord.
Great players do not leave great clubs for money. It says either bad things about Terry as a man or Chelsea as a club if he goes..
By richard.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:22 AM.
Why oh why, have so many people commented on this story. Lets face it JT is just an average player in an average team. Whoever he plays for next season, they still wont win the league. Man utd to win everything, cos fergie has just pulled off the best signing of the summer. Cmon michael owen, lets show the premiership and the rest of europe just how really good you are. 30 goals +, this season
By Mick sanderson.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:50 AM.
If he has the bottle to admit it openly to the fans, then let him go; otherwise SHUT UP!

You are talking complete nonsense - Terry has already earned enough money to be able to afford to retire from football tomorrow and never work again.
When you're earning that kind of money, professional pride should dictate where you play, not increased wages.
Those who try and liken this to us mere mortals being offered a salary increase that doubles our wages are just idiots.
By Alex.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:45 AM.
come on! Why is everyone comparing Chelsea to Man City, unless they have recently started supporting a football team. It is a fact that Chelsea were already a top 4 team when bought by Abromovich while Man City couldnt even finish in top 8 last season after breaking the English transfer record for Robinho and buying so many other quality players.
As for John Terry, I believe he will never leave Chelsea for any price so Man City are either wasting their time or they are after some publicity.
Some one in this forum is accusing us Chelsea fans of being hypocrite but that is just his stupid opinion. Playing for a football club is entirely different from being a director of a company. How many fans can you have as a director of a company?? John Terry has a millions of fans and he will never disappoint his fans for any money offered to him.
P.S dont believe these rumours; no matter how much John Terry might be worth, Chelsea will not consider selling their captain and the best Centre back in the world because it is not just about defending for John, he offers much more than that in terms of being the driving force behind all the success at Chelsea FC. He is a Chelsea icon and will retire at Chelsea...you mark my word on this issue!
By Rishad.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:50 AM.
City are currently putting thier money where thier mouth is, and not just talking the talk. It's about time someone took a stand against the so called top 4 and if it means payments over the odds will have to be made, then so be it. I see no one moaning about R Madrid's spending spree, apart from Man U of course who think the Premiership belongs to them. Nice to see them not get a player they 'so wanted' and it's even funnier they take on a 'has been' and label it a brilliant signing. That good only Stoke and Hull put offers in. Ha. Come on Jonny Boy, the Blue side of Manc is just beginnning. Get on board for a roller coaster ride to success. This is only the beginning for City.............both as a team and as a trademark. City shirt sales will go through the roof next year when all the 'I support them cos they always win' brigade jump ship. The South East will be hit the hardest.
By Life long City fan... Posted July 5 2009 at 10:49 AM.
Man United fan here, if Terry leaves then it will be a sad day for football proving that even a man who lives and breathes their club can be bought out by money finally proving that money rules football, end of.
By Joe.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:05 AM.
I think that the millions spent within football on players etc, is out of order. £150,000a week? There should be a cap on wages, say £10,000 a week and filter the change through to the fans by reducing the ticket prices. This would result in most grounds being full every home game. England do have the best grounds in world football, but they need the people to fill them! If Terry wants to get paid even more for playing then good luck to him. However, Man City will not win the Champions League whilst Chelsea will!
By George Cargill.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:38 AM.
let him go, the guy is a loser
By daniel bannister.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:41 AM.
you's all chat bubbles just because city owners have an extra 4billion than roman! other clubs can still compeat in the transfer market look how much madrid spent so far and there foundations are already good as for city its a rubbish club thats always goin to be in the shaddow of man utd john terry shouldnt chelsea are already showin they are a top club in england and europe not like average city
By David.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:39 AM.
I didn't think football will end up like this .As they say power corrupt that is the case of Man city.I see them finishing 9th at best.
By daniel.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:18 AM.
Please let's all get real, if someone offers you silly money YOU WOULD BE AN ABSOLUTE IDIOT not to accept.
By Nish.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:28 AM.
The only way to see if JT has been truly missed on the pitch is to lose him to city and to see how our defence copes without him - if we find that we're not missing anything then we've bagged 45m!
On the other hand, Ricky C is bound to go sooner rather than later, and if both of them were to go I'm not sure if we'd have a strong enough back line.
By Tom.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:40 AM.
if john terry leaves chelsea i will stop watching football and burn my chelsea shirt which i love to wear when chelsea play.
By june emery.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:39 AM.
well why has john terry not quashed these rumours himself jt will hand in a transfer request in the next couple of days i have heard he has been speaking to man city in early june 300k a week he wont turn that sum of money down brace yourselfs chelski fans john terry is off to manchester city fc
By ARABIANKNIGHT.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:11 AM.
Why does everyone go on about City spending this and that and the Kaka deal??
At no stage have City been the ones quoting figures or who they are after. It is always the players club quoting figures.
If City had signed Owen, he would have been a has been, yet now he talking about getting back in England team.
People were saying that City will ruin football due to money offering for players and to players, yet R Madrid paying stupid money for everyone and all that is being said is that it is there second coming.
City are trying and I repeat trying to buy good quality players so as to try and break the top 4 monopoly that operates in the Prem.
To attract these players they DO have to pay over the odds and the selling club wants that bit extra due to it being to City. It the way of the world.
None of the top 4 moan about getting the extra £25m-£50m from the Champs League EVERY year do they,so straight away they have an advantage over the rest of the Prem teams in spending power every year.
One of they problems that the present top 4 has is that if ANY team breaks this monopoly then a couple of them could be in big financial trouble, due to being unable to service there debts.
This is not a dig at any of them but a finacial fact.
Football is a short career for the players so they want to make as much money as possible during that time, so good luck to them, they are only one tackle away from the scrap heap.
By Its in the blood.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:13 AM.
Its all bout the money!!
By elnino.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:12 AM.
I for one dont care about who City sign or dont sign, I will still be there, just like those 2nd Division days. I can hold my head up and say that I go whatever the team.
People should concentrate on there own teams and not snip on about others, its "Not life or Death, its more important than that"
By its in the blood.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:14 AM.
To all you people out there saying city are going no were.Wake up if city pay £50 million for terry or £100 million its to much but at the end of the day the owners of city are just getting there loose change out there pockets till the next millions come out of the ground, things have moved on now chelsea man united have been spending millions years ago and now some one comes along and spends and has more the top clubs are moaning grow up and get use to it the money now is on the city foot best of luck to city and the fans theres a new club with money in the premire so live with it and stop all the moaning money talks and thats a fact.
By city till i die.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:47 AM.
In football, players are meant to enjoy the game when they play with team mates who understand each other in positional still of play else you will not be seen as good as you think . If JT feel Man City will be a better choice for him then let him go. There are many other choices out there who can do better than him, only that Mr. Kenyon is not do his job well and fast if it comes to signing a good player. He is either too slow to offer or not willing to comply till the last minutes , you only found out the player is for another club. Take example of Alves of Villareal last two years ago, Johnson of this season and so many others to name a few infact he is to be blame. He even went ahead to say they are not interested in very good players like Milcom and Ibrahimovic of Inter Millan then what is he looking for ?.Its time he give the chance to some one else whose ambition is to qualify as champion not second or third even not missing to take the Champions league . I hate to here him go for a new player because I know he will never end signing. The case of JT boffing couldn't have been if he did signed the above gues.Despite all the faults of Drogba causing us to loss to Baca, fighting to kick free kicks when he is not, quarying team mates on the pitch, falling when he's sopposed to score us more goals, a 9 shirted who can not create personnal actions and make a goal as others do. All this are never cretisize or look for a replacement by kenyon.
By Robert A. Belgium... Posted July 5 2009 at 9:50 AM.
No way JT would leave chelsea for man city money dont bring in success its the chemistry
By Kalpz.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:49 AM.
Why are so many football fans hypocrites? Are they saying that if someone offered them double the money to do the same job that they wouldn't even consider it out of loyalty to a company that they'd worked for for 15 years? Anyone who says that is a liar or a fool.
By Richard Byrne.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:37 AM.
I can't believe Chelsea fans actually think that any of their players actually put the club before money. Come on, it's always about money for Chelsea boys and JT will go.
By Jimmy B.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:32 AM.
City fan here - this all reminds me of the Gerrard 'will he/won't he' join Chelski from a few seasons back. Gerrard like Terry epitomises the spirit of his team and while I'd love to see both at City, I think the heart will eventually rule the head.
By Spike.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:31 AM.
Serves Chelsea right for introducing moneybags owners to the Premier League. Good to see them being destabilised by a richer club than them at last. This is what it's felt like for the rest of us since Abromovich came and tried to "buy" football over here.
By Mick.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:30 AM.
If john terry moves to man city i will litreally eat my hat
By Jonny Poe.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:31 AM.
Mr Chelsea won't let us fans down by doing something stupid like this.... But never say never. If JT goes, it's possible anyone and everyone could go!
By Intermeezo.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:17 AM.
30 million is even too big from my own perspective. Chelsea should just let him go!
By Obioha.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:10 AM.
Not ourJT he's not goin' anywhere. My advice to Man City; try to look for defenders in Saud Arabia you might get one quality there.
By Ken Katuma. Lilongwe, Malawi.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:08 AM.
The main difference between Chelsea and Man City is that Chelsea were already a top 4 club and playing regular Euro/Champions league footi - Man City are/have not. Splashing the cash doesn't give you guaranteed success, Hughes will need to be at the top of his game keeping all the 'stars' happy because lets face it - if it all goes pear shape they will leave Man City faster than they could bank the money! Good luck though, I think Arsenal fans should be more concerned as I can see them finishing 5th at best next year!,
