The Barcelona striker has been haggling over a move to Manchester City for nearly six weeks and has asked for £200,000 a week to quit the Nou Camp.
He also wants a £12million slice of the £25m transfer fee, which has prevented the deal from going through as the European champions stand firm.
But the Cameroon international would waive such a lump sum if Sir Alex Ferguson came in for him. Fergie could still be in for a striker - despite the capture of Michael Owen - and only a club of United's stature will prise Eto'o away from Spain.
He would accept a cut-price £150,000-a-week deal that would still make him the top earner at Old Trafford instead of the possibility of mid-table football at Eastlands.
One source close to the player said: "Samuel has not been convinced by a move to a mid-table side in the Premier League and neither will he sign a new deal at Barca."
Barcelona have offered the player a two-year extension on his current £100,000- a-week deal.
But Eto'o, 28, could play out his final year at Barcelona and be free to negotiate a lucrative swansong at the end of next season.
Barcelona will go ahead with their plans to sign David Villa this week regardless of Eto'o digging his heels in.
Coach Pep Guardiola has told sporting director Txiki Begiristain that he would have no problem having both Eto'o and Villa in the same team.
If Valencia turn down Barca's £40m offer for Villa, they will turn their attention to Diego Forlan. The Atletico Madrid striker has a £33m buyout clause, although Barca believe they could get him for closer to £30m.

I think Samuel Eto'o would make a great player for sir alex i was thinking like barcelona's massive 3 attacks Messi,Henry,Eto'o i was thinking like Aguero,Rooney,Owen But if sir alex ferguson i don't mind united will still make a great team.I Just want united to be like real madrid's team they have money and every player wants to go there and i am tired of hearing that i would like united to be that kind of now.Sir alex got money this year he can buy players but have to buy young and STAR PLAYER like Aguero,Pato,Richards,Messi,Neuer that kind of player i want
By Alen Gurung.. Posted July 12 2009 at 11:41 AM.
I think that Fergie should buy Eto as he is a brilliant player and he showed that when he helped Barca win the champions league this year. He is still a great player.
By jordan coffey.. Posted July 6 2009 at 7:38 PM.
Fergie should forget about eto'o, he's too old and has gone past his prime, rather he should promote Fredrico Mecheda to the first team. he's young and has shown what he can do, he gave man u six precious points without which man u would have lost the title.

Wow City bashing continues! This is the playground mentality when someone poses a threat to the bully you begin by slagging them off but your aggression is only because you fear what the new boy could do to your reputation. We are loving the fact that fans are worried about us because it means we must be doing something right. The blue moon is rising!

Man City fans are just useless.. I dont think you will sign Eto'o neither will we !!
I think Michael Owen will score a lot of goals for us this coming season 15 - 20 - 25 with the likes of Carrick Scholes Rooney & Berbatov will create a lot of chances for Owen.
(Fergie knows wat his doing with Owen)
Plus i think we can make history and win the Premier Leage N Champions League
Come On United !!

haha yeaaah...the signings of city have been pretty hilarious tbh...robinho didnt even realise he had signed for city hahahaha!! thats how embarassing they are...eto'o sums up whats gonna continue to happen...man city put massive offers in...but the player just isnt interested...if all citys money can only buy them..craig bellamy...de jong...n other average players...then i cant see whereee they become a threat.... :S :S
By mark.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:32 PM.
Well man u our problem is only striker atleast we need one play maker and central defence then wing and striking like eto'o and david silva.

yeh 1977 relegated, once in 32 years aint bad. when was the last time you won a trophy lol. listen money dont bring success, no top stars wanna go city, you can only get top stars by taking them from your arch rivals which shows how much you rely on us to get you good players. where on our way down yeh :S okay then mate, who done the double over you last year. guess its goin to be 35 years wivout anyfing. only comment city fans wen u can actually back yourself up, e.g winning some silverware.

MANU should NOT buy Eto'o
he is too old to spend over 20 mill for, plus why spend 150k per week on him,we have great talented youngsters and with owen's experience they will mature and should be able to strat playin first team footy this season
By Shan.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:21 PM.
James,
that is the best post i have read all day. the facts speak for themselves.
the bottom line is, all man u and chelsea fans are jealous of city's spending power and feel threatened by it. they can rant all they like about trophies. the past does not mean success for the future. they know the writing is on the wall and some new team on the block threatens thier stanglehold on the premiership. fergie knows it too, and i think he will chuck his cards in next season, as will roman money bags - no point in fighting a lost cause against multi billionaire arabs, who lets be honest, could buy chelsea tomorrow with thier pocket money, and get this, close them down. ditto that to utd too. it will take time, but then we know it will. one day, all the top superstars will be paying city to allow them to let them play for them. heres a thought - wayne rooney - city player.....hahaaha. we wont/dont need him. blue moon rising...........red flag lowering.
By city 4 ever.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:12 PM.
Well it would be grate having agrate player like eto'o
but as fergie can't play three strikers i belive the best option could have been Ashley simon young if well cooked with valencia together they can fill down the gap left as they are good in foot work.
United guys lets pray for team spirited players but not money makers. Ashley is good and if cooked with fergie and paired with roo and valencia our counter attacks of roo, ron, tevez will be back-His a threat to our big enemies ask chelsea and arsenal
By Denis.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:05 PM.
Its so funny to hear all the crap about city from all the bitter and twisted utd fans, how much more debt do you think utd can stand before they burst ?? its turning for city and as a city fan for nearly 31 years im loving every minute of it !!!! cant wait for this season to start, more signings on the way, it sure is a BLUE MOON RISING !!!!!!!
By Martin (Palm Springs) originally from England.. Posted July 5 2009 at 8:50 PM.
hmmm man city might have the money but it will not bring them success...especially when they persist on just wasting the money...de jong..just one example of the money wasting :) the top 4 have nothing to worry about from city to be quite honest....

To all the deluded Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and arsenal fans
Man Utd - 478.1m
Chelsea - 718.2m
Liverpool - 432.3m
Arsenal - 281.5m
(Spurs are at 473.4m, btw).
Thats a total of 1,910,000,000 OR 477.5m each.
Can we have guesses on Citys spending ?
346.6m.
Meaning that we have.......
371.6m to catch up with Chelsea
131.5m to catch up with Utd
85.7m to catch up with Liverpool
126.8m to catch up with Spurs
(and that we've outspent Arsenal by 65.1m, but 221m of that has come in the last 2 seasons)
Lets talk about BUYING success because it seems to be OK when Chelsea and Man United do it.
By James Russell.. Posted July 5 2009 at 7:52 PM.
Man City needs time to learn from the big 4 no matter their Arab Money. What happened to Kaka, money cant buy everything as a staunch Man utd fan pls Fergie go for Eto'o he will bring all those goals back to Old Trafford

Eto will be a great addition to the MAN U squad. He will bring the goals tht CR7, has been putting in. OWEN, BERBATOV, ROONEY & ETO tht will b deadly... All thts left will be to get David Silva, Senna or Diarra. If they don't get them, then Fergie should check for Robben, Felipe Melo & L Fabiano.. Then they can say Ronaldo who?
By Brian.. Posted July 5 2009 at 6:30 PM.
errr.. welll its beaan a ruth season so far 4 united but if manchester united buy eto or aguaro for 30 million and then sign ribery for 50 million and nani with the deal
By jake holmes.. Posted July 5 2009 at 6:13 PM.
i am a born and bread united fan and i think that he would be a good signing, he knows where the net is and he is strong and will link up well rooney. however we do need more players i think ribery, sliva and huntleer would fantastic additions on the way to retaining our titlie for the forth time in a row. And would help spend that 80 million left by ronaldo!
By lucy gardner.. Posted July 5 2009 at 5:45 PM.
use all sit there n slag man utd buying owen but i will bet u anymoney that he will score more goals than that 25million headless chicken called tevez will and as for city fans enjoy the bottom half of the table u club is a joke

eto o -utd is a good switch
By paul.. Posted July 5 2009 at 5:06 PM.
im not sure if eto'o will join manutd but i think if barcelona buy villia i think that there is a big possibility that he could join. manchester united will have a very strong forward(rooney, berbatov, owen and eto'o) i dont think manchester united will play owen and berbatov every game, maybe berbatov will play just behind rooney and eto'o. i think rooney would defintly play every game they can(unless injured),berbatov week in week out but playing over half the games of the season owen(who manutd got for free) owen i think would play about half the games of the season but also when mancherunited play there reserves team e.g an fa cup, carling cup owen would also play to add more exerience to the younger team, which lacks in any reserve team. in conclusion IF manchester united do sign eto'o he will play first team football with wayne rooney, berbatov playing most game but not all and owen playing about half the games but also adding experience to the reserves e.g with macheda, welbeck ect
By MUFAN1.. Posted July 5 2009 at 4:51 PM.
Man United Forever - I compltely agree with you and im a chelsea fan - man city your are lucky that man utd , arsenal , liverpool and chelsea already had owners becuase overthise your arab owners would have brought one of them. your no way near as big as man utd , chelsea , liverpool or arsenal and never will be. you need to wake up if you think you are going to win anythink this season , im suprised robinho hasnt upped n left yet.
By Joe A.. Posted July 5 2009 at 4:15 PM.
If city get Tevez midfield and forward line sorted, more goals than last season . Barry a superb midfield general. Unlikely but if Terry were to sign and Lescott, a super strong defence. But would definitely keep Dunne what a club man and what a professional, hardly misses a game AND got rave reviews in irelands last international. As for the rags their "fans" have very short memories they were on the verge of sacking Fergie (4 years no trophy) but they expect Hughes to produce, lets not forget he's only been there 12 months, one day in last summers transfer window, enough time to get Robbi though, and the crazy time in January which NO club likes. As for BIG money signings whats the problem United Chelsea Liverpool etc have ALL been doing it for years ,that's why they have been winning all the trophy's sounds like pure envy to me. Wouldn't buy Eto'o my self he's to arrogant, would much prefer we went for Dzecko ( hope that's how you spell it) he's younger cheaper and sounds a much better club man to me. But whatever happens the Premiership should be a much more open affair this season with maybe 6 or 7 clubs going for it, which can't be bad for ALL fans, even the arrogant bully boys from the swamp , sounds to me like they are getting twitchy. Would also say good luck to M O'neill at the Villa who is doing his best with limited resources to build a good side with home grown talent. As a parting shot Fergie to retire at end of the season and watch for David Moyes moving in.
By soccermad.. Posted July 5 2009 at 4:13 PM.
Eto'o has already agreed to join City. The problem that is stalling the transfer is the gamesmanship between Barca and Eto'o concerning the 12million loyalty bonus that is in his contract. Barca don't want to pay it and are hoping Eto'o makes it clear he wants to leave so that they don't have to. This transfer will drag on, but rest assured he will be a City player unless Barca have a change of heart and offer him an improved contract.
He won't be going to United.

By Edward.. Posted July 5 2009 at 4:00 PM.
Why are all man city fans getting so exited? ( im a chelsea fan ) You may ask why man utd signed owen but the facts are he has been more succesful than any player at manchester city. and also i think you will find he has proberly scored more goals than all of man citys forwards put together, so to get him for free is a bargain . why would samuel eto'o join manchester city? think , who would you rather play for man utd one of the most succesful clubz in the world playing in the champions league or man city who at ost could win the carling cup? easy answer i think. at the end of the day in 5 years time man city you will still be a mid table club.
By Joe A.. Posted July 5 2009 at 3:40 PM.
What another anti city slant from andy(pandy)dunn..He needs to inform his source that the season is now over, yes city were a mid table side LAST SEASON but i'm sure if eto looks at city NOW and for the COMING SEASON theres quite a good chance they will finish a lot higher. Thats why clubs buy better players mr dunn to improve there team and possibly there position in the league.Your a laughing stock dunny with this article and deep down i think you know it. Bones

anyone who think city has a better youth system is either drunk or stupid you have come out with no more the 5 good players in the last 20 years where as united have had much more , as for fearing the city that just hillarious its like muhammed ali in his prime fearing dale winton. As for etoo not worth the time of more an united get hunterlarr from madrid on the cheap or augero is gonna spent big everyone else isnt worth it
By ryan blackman.. Posted July 5 2009 at 3:26 PM.

By CliffL.. Posted July 5 2009 at 2:42 PM.
the comments made by wayne buckley are absolutely ridiculous, uniteds youth academy has produced a lot of top class players, paul scholes, david beckham, ryan giggs for a start, so don't make comments about something you know nothing about idiot.

i would buy eto'o for sure he is one of the brilliant
goal getters in the world he helped barca to two champions league titles both scoring in the finals.
moving to man u is going to be another challenge for the cameroonian with bunch of talent in the present man u squard i think is not going to be easy for him but am confident if man u should place
an offer on the striker there are not going to regret.
for man city?????
By mohammed.. Posted July 5 2009 at 2:50 PM.
ill like 2 add to ur comments i think city have a good strong team as it is city do not need eto a 28 year old 4 that price and wage. City are going place,is and going to be fighing in the top 4 places next season every one kwons that they will be a problam they have big names and tevez on hes way just adds. so regardless of eto city have a goog stricke force anyway. City needs 2 go get players with qualities and skill as good as big names. City can get these player 4 half the price and age 20 25. city now have money is that a problam its a football club like any other. United are not as big as they think they are who have united bidin 4. the players that were on the list let united down not as big as u think man u !man who!. united got 80m to spend but have 300m det. Its all about city not united not as powerful ha ha ha ha ha next season when city are in champ-ship people u will see spending?????????
80m is pe-nuts ..........?think
By man u ant big as they think .. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:54 AM.
As much as we call you loyal fans of the so called ''richest modern trophyless club.'' My corporate advice to your club administrators is that your 'managers are too small to sign big players like Kaka, Ronaldinho and like, they can't accept being managed by an incompetent man (management success in soccer). Firstly offer a world class manager big money move. The manager's profile will motivate the big names, no need of lucrative offers. For now guys, support quietly rule out comparisons. Its not about how much you can easily spend on brilliance, but its how much your club can attract such brilliance wit less flashings on them and what you sell to the world. And for own information Manutd is the most common household brand (image) in soccer industry not even flashy Madrid equals it, know this fact. Phils' so good to be under Mr Hughs.

Hi folks, did you ever think that Eto'o sees something in Manchester United, the other players who Manu wanted did not see ? the main thing is Ronaldo went to Real Madrid, now that it is every boy "Dream" to go to Real Madrid. dont blame them it is all about MONEY, hope some of them dont regret it. Ruud, Heinze, Pepe all call for Ronaldo to come to Madrid where are they now, Eto'o have also seen that Manu took Owen, that alone speaks volume so if he want to come why not let him "Dream too. so as long as Manu says yes we will welcome you, I love Tevez but he should learn to shut his mouth now. talk on the field anything can happen , you have not played a game as yet for City , How many did you play for Manu? Dont bite the hand that fed you for 2 years. you never know what can happen. see how Ronaldo acted fergie is a father figure to him, God is still in Control.

man united, chelsea, arsenal, liverpool, everton, hull, stoke...to name a few team in the premiership alone have better support than u lot.

Its vital that United get a big name signing in to heel the loss of Ronaldo. Owen and Valencia have class but not enough to cover the Ronaldo and Tevez Loss. Eto'o would be a perfect signing as he would be great with Rooney.

To all that seem confused as to why Kaka joined Madrid for less money, instead of joining City. It is because there is an elite and exclusive cartel of European clubs who command the scene at present. City are now knocking on the door stating their intention to become a key member of that group, whether it is at the expense of an existing member, or as the new kid on the block, it is only a matter of time before a major deal is done and the Cartel knows it. Question, why is it ok for RM to spend huge sums on Galacticos and no one else is allowed to compete with or surpass their offers? If you were selling your house and received offers from two potential buyers, one offering the asking price, but withpayments spread in instalments of 20% over 5 years, and the other from a cash buyer at double the asking price for a quick sale, Which one would you take?
For those who believe that reason these superstars are reluctant to come to the blues, is the lack of Champions league football at COMS this coming season. May I point out that the World Cup takes place in Africa next year, at which time the likes of Tevez, Eto'o, Robinho, Elano as well as Barry, Richards, Bridge and SWP will benefit from not having to play the extra games in the Champions league, hence less prone to injury, leaving them fitter and fresher for the world showpiece, whilst striving for a top four finish this season and a CL place in the 2010/11 season.

By John D.. Posted July 5 2009 at 1:36 PM.
we only need players who have a club at heart like Giggs ,scholes , neville, rio. vidic and rooney not those who just wanna come for money pliz . But still if manu wanted eto they have the money.

To all you Glorious REDS out there....
Yesterday has gone and tomorrow is another day
You are not in as good a position as you were and banging on about history and trophies will not make have any impact in the direction that City are going......
Lets see what the situation is in January then we can all have laugh either way...

Eto'o to Man Utd????
Definitely!
By Fahad Man U Fan.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:46 AM.
wayne buckley, you talk absolute bull s**t. do u really think utd's academy isn't that good? you've brought a very small amount of good players through your ranks whilst we've been doin it for decades an will continue to do it for years to come. all citeh fans are all mouth when you're splashing the arabs cash about but lets see if you're all still shouting next may. MUPPET
By RED1999.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:46 AM.
All those saying United can't afford Eto'o... maybe you have forgotten money doesnt guarantee you the signings.
All the money in the world couldn't tempt Kaka to Eastlands. He went to Madrid for a lower wage and transfer fee. And City ended up with Barry. Hardly the same level!
Terry also snubbed City.
If you need further proof... look at Berbatov last summer. He had a chance to join City but realised money wasnt everything and joined United and has so far won 3 trophies.
Don't get me wrong, players WILL go to City... but only to milk money from the club.
Those with sense will join United, Barca or Madrid for a chance to actually win something. There is the difference.
By Thaher.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:46 AM.
I'm still not sure why everyone seems to think that just because Owen is a rag he is all of the suddent going to be brilliant. He is made of GLASS!!! He has no ability to generate chances on his own and was dropped from a RELEGATION squad. He is only so highly revered because of a goal 11 years ago.
Meanwhile the same fans are constantly screaming about City ruining football and having a go at us for the spending. The way I see it....TOUGH!!! City has been bullied long enough....time for us to flex some muscles. I can't wait to see Tevez score on the rags and let Ferguson hear it!
By Pete.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:55 AM.
Sir Alex plz try and do whatever it takes to bring Ibra ,david silva or Aguero to united. bring ibra at least u can play him up as target man and rooney or berba as usual making runs from deep or playing in the hole behind the front man .And v need out and out natural left sided winger either silva or Di maria argentine olympic winner of benfica would do
By swapnil Manutd Fan.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:20 AM.
All football supporters should be worried of the trend for players going to spain. We should avoid taking players in the uk that are always on the lookout for the next move. UK teams have done ok in the past playing football that suits th uk public and winning euro cups. These so called great players cannot play for long in the uk the opposition quickly catches up with tricks.
British football is the best lets stop talking about south americans and italians french etc they usually fall by the wayside after a season or two
By john.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:26 AM.
Just loving the bitchy comments by the Man U fans. Perhaps now you got Owen you could sell him on........to Hull or stoke. He is 'that' good 'everyone' wanted him, not!! Eto'd - different class, and time will tell about City winning something this year, next year etc. Rome wasn't built in a day, and it will take time, however, it is more interesting to listen to jealous Man U fans moaning. You lost your best 2 assets and now have a team of old crocks who cant do 90 mins, and young 'super stars' who really arent much better than anyone else in the Prem, oh, and that lazy 35 mill waste of money up front. Next season, Utd - mid table, wondering why 80 mill for Ronaldo dosent even buy a trophy. Prediction - Fergie to resign end of next season as team fails to achieve something they think they have a god given right to own. City -jsut the start.
By life long City fan.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:58 AM.
My word the red feathers are well and truly ruffled. Short memories i guess, Van der sar, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Hargreaves, Tevez Rooney, Ronaldo, Berbatov, Anderson, Nani, all products of the academy i guess. Correct but not Man U's. Don't knock other clubs who just happen to be wealthier than your own and are spending a tiny percentage of their wealth. Your academy is a joke unlike the endless supply from Eastlands. SWP, Ireland, Onouha, Richards all 1st team regulars. Adios
By Wayne Buckley.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:58 AM.
Sounds like another Robinho. Perfect for Citeh. For 150K a week, please join Citeh. Leave Man U alone. I'll take a risk on him if he's coming for 75K a week, and a free agent.
By Marcus.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:43 AM.
eto at utd eh, but will he get to play along with all the other home grown talent as it appears united would never contempate around 20/30m to improve there team and consider it with contempt if anyone has the nerve to challange there stranglehold on the top talent that becomes available with the smug belief that it is there devine right to be at the top.
By chrispy.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:46 AM.
i wouldnt buy him.....he;s another prima dona.....he wouldnt give manutd a 100% like the present team....i think you would get more out of owen...besides he is to old.....bezema would have been ideal''....
By anthony conibeer.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:44 AM.
All you united's fan's going on with yourself the arabs have been in charge at city for 1 year and we have allready signed robinho, barry and cruz and it will only get better united fan's need to face the fact's money bring's trophies and in a few years city will be winning things. Also all you reds need to remember about spending money how many times have you broke the british transfer record???? Dwight Yorke 19mil, Rio, RVN and spening vast amounts of money on players like juan sebastien veron :L
By Dave.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:04 AM.
city are the richest club in the world and only the greedy players want to play there.look at kaka he could of gone and gots buckets of cash, instead real bought him for less and he accepted!! thats a true footballer, man u on the other hand should go for eto.he will take a pay cut to play for us oh he wanted more to play for a substandard team don't blame him...come on the reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By james.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:02 AM.
This whole circus is really funny - the way that City fans are displaying an arrogance not seen in Chelsea or Man U fans until they'd actually won something.
Pride comes before a fall.
By Alex.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:48 AM.
i like manu to sign ETTO and EDIN DZEKO F WOLFSBURG AT ANY COST.....SP TO DZEKO COZ HE IS VERY TALENTED YOUNG GUY.
By sammy.. Posted July 5 2009 at 11:09 AM.
Fergie wake up . Take Etoo and atleast he will perform better than the reject Owen.
Get your B team players into the A Team that should be very good asthere is terrific Talent lying waste bcos you dont give them chance. Give youngsters their due and you will get results rather tan by names .
By Shakeel.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:41 AM.
i am an italian fan of man united....i'm worried for ronaldo and tevez...i hope for eto...we need....
By manchesterina.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:41 AM.
No disrespect to City, but if I were Eto'o, I know which direction I would rather opt for. A team that is challenging for all honours, known globally, regular European football, or one that is just beginning to trey and piece a team together capable of breaking in to the top four.
As far as Tevez goes, The guy screams throughout the season about wanting a new contract, Utd offer him a contract and then he goes and throws his toys out of his overpriced pram and turns nasty.....good riddance...I used to like seeing Tevez turn out for his work ethic, but now he has just turned into another prima dona.
By MUFC4EVA.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:40 AM.
The fact that he's demanding a 'cut-price' £150,000 to join United is just an indication of his inflated ego. He expects to become the highest-payed United player if he was to join, before kicking a ball in the Premier League; i'd understand it if he had proven Premier League Pedigree, but none whatsoever? Would be a bad influence on the team as a whole, causing unrest with both the up and coming youth talent and the veterans, i'd stay well clear if I was Fergie, focus on a more down to earth individual.

RD - your comments have no substance or relevance to the position City are in.
You have 'earned your place in the sun' - by doing what?
A stadium full of fans does not make a successful team - ask Newcastle, Leeds etc.
It's like having a great F1 car but rubbish driver!
I have a colleague who supports City who, each year insists you will beat Man U and end up higher in the league. I challenge him with a £1000 bet - he declines. Mmm.
Buying a team full of superstars does not necessarily make a league winning team.
Facts are facts: you have won nothing since 76, full stadium or not.
Incidentally, Man U WILL end up higher than City again next year. It is about building a team over a period of time - not over a 6 week period pre season
By MP.. Posted July 5 2009 at 10:10 AM.
i think man u need eto for all cost
By paul king.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:45 AM.
if city are the 4th 5th best supported team in the country then why do they hold the premier leauge record for the most empty seats? although no matter who city buy it will be a struggle to to make a top four spot unless arsenal sort themselves out!
By glosopredpaul.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:45 AM.
City? Just tell me who they are and all the major honours theyve won? Did city come back from losing players in a plane crash? Bottom line is until city mess up the big 4 they'll be nobodys even then they still have to win trophies which will never happen
By United fan.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:45 AM.
It makes me smile , that all manu fans say your not botherd about about the building of the blue army , yet you still are going on about us . Face the facts manchester will soon have two teams to be proud of man city , and man city reserves ! The future is bright the future bright BLUE !
By marco the blue.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:49 AM.
As a City fan I can't really understand why everyone (especially the NOTW it seems) is having a go at City & their fans. As MU fans love to keep remind us we have won nothing since '76 and yet we are the 4th or 5th best supported club in the country. We were down in division 3 not so long ago and still attracted over 20k fans. We are some of the longest suffering, most loyal supporters in the country (probably the world !) which is precisely why the Arabs came in. Now the money is available, what should we do ? Nothing except sit around fighting relegation every year ? or push on, spend some money, try to improve ? Which club would not do exactly what we are doing given the chance ? It smacks a little bit of envy because not every 'average' team has the chance to do what we are doing but please do not class us as wannabees or glory hunters - we have earned our day in the sun, the opportunity to see top class players at the COMS and to possibly challenge the top teams.
By RD.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:35 AM.
i just think eto has realized he still cuts it at a top club like united not a mid table team (city)and probably doesnt want to play in a 1-1-8 formation, me id take the money personaly but it is a mercenary team(city)
By glosspredpaul.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:33 AM.
so this bloke is going to give up a payment of 10 million pounds to play for the utd.yeah right, would you ????????? after all there all mercenary right .
By etoo pay cut hahaha.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:30 AM.
Great move with Eto`o and I love Owen too, It would't surprise me if Owen scores 20 goals for United coming season and Eto'O 30 goals. I say to Fergie 'get a stunning midfielder' and a stopper in the net...

Etoo will be a massive attraction at O.T.As a United fan, this will really be great.Everyone who follow Spanish football knows the impact that he has had on Barcelonas' game.Just remember who scores the first goal in the final against United...
He still has three or four years playing at high level and hopefully it will be at O.T.
By Ed.. Posted July 5 2009 at 9:12 AM.
Eto'o is a brilliant player.both fans and administration of Barca know that.he deserves $300 000 a week and if he leaves Barca goes down ,i dreamt and lets watch.
