BORO WANT WAYNE HENDERSON IN GOAL

MIDDLESBROUGH are lining up Preston keeper Wayne Henderson as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Ross Turnbull.

The Blues snapped up Turnbull, 24, on a free transfer this week and Boro boss Gareth Southgate has moved quickly to secure a replacement.

Henderson, 25, enjoyed a successful loan spell at Grimsby last season after being out for nearly two years with a back injury.

wayne would be an exellent signing for Boro. He is an exellent keeper and comes from a family of keepers, so its very much in his blood.
Yes, the back injury was severe, but how many players have been out with long term injuries and made a great comeback and Waynes loan spell at Grimsby Town speaks for itself as he played a huge part in saving them from relegation.

Wayne was a brilliant goalkeeper for us last year in helping us survive relegation.

for the way your club is going this guy would be a great signing for you and should be grateful that G.S is doing something about it.

wow gareth, you realy are pushing the boat out with these signings. but tell me is it wise to buy a keeper who has been out for 2 years with a back injury, after all hell be bending to pick the ball out the back of the net a lot. Another step back for the boro this year i fear
