New Sunderland boss Steve Bruce does not want the former England Under-21 centre-half. Ferdinand, 24, joined the Black Cats last summer for £8million.
With skipper Matt Upson likely to be on his way to Manchester City or Aston Villa, the Hammers will need to bolster their back four.
So West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is ready to test Sunderland with a £2m bid.

Anton, stay where you are, Sunderland are a much better, much more ambitious club and you will do you England career much better justice there........Phew!! that was close!!! lets hope he falls for that rubbish, best 8 mil ever for a player who only actually concentrates for 30% of the season!

Come back to West Ham Anton....your more than welcome and way too good to ply your trade in yet another relegation scrap. Poor season in a poor side...

I dont want him back, it was the best business we ever made by selling him for 8m, I couldnt believe it, 2m wouldve been enough, he's lacks concentration, thinks he's better than he is. We need our defense to improve by at least 70% now lets just rid of lucas neil, dryer, boa morta.

i don't want him back at west ham, even if it was for an over cut price of £2m. his regular lack of concentration cost us too many goals, he thinks he's better than he is and he had a questionable attitude. our back line has a much higher standard now and started to improve when he left. why would we want to turn the clock back.

Think anton would thrive coming back to west ham. Playing under zola he will really break through and reach his potential, and really he only left due to in-the-club problems like player-manager relationships/ boardroom decisions. Don't think he really wanted to leave just got kicked out, unsure about his relationship with curbs either. So i'd say bring him home, cos i have a gut feel tht he wants a return. COYI!!

mmmm.lets see..we gave west ham 8m for him a year ago....hes had an ok season...hes young....always fit...so yeah, lets sell him for 2m ? wtf ? what planet are you lot actually on ? bearing in mind the likes of ronaldo is worth 80m - lets all go stupid and quarter the values of the cheaper players ? not in this life time

I'd be disappointed if Ferdinand left, other than his last couple of month of the season he had an excellent campaign for us. And if he did leave, the supposed 2m fee for him is an absolute joke.
