The winger's Anfield contract runs out on July 1, making him availabe on a free transfer.
Goodison Park boss David Moyes is ready to snap him up but Pennant, 26, who was a £6.7million Liverpool signing in the summer of 2006, is concerned about the Kop fans' reaction to such a controversial move.
A pal of the star admitted: "Jermaine wouldn't want to do anything to upset the Liverpool fans who have always been good to him."
Pennant, who was on loan at Pompey last season, is also aware of interest from Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham, Wigan, Stoke and Hull City.

P.S. They should be bidding for Bentley, yes he has an attitude problem, but I doubt he will even try to get one over on David Moyes! I wouldn't.

If he is good enough for David Moyes he's good enough to strenthen the numbers @ Everton and better than some players I can think of.

If he goes to everton for free he should play for free. He wasn't worth the wages we paid him after signing him, he ain't worth buying and that's why we want to offload him. i'm an LFC fan and have been for 53yrs and he's crap.

On a free, Pennant would be an excellent signing, assuming we can keep his wages at a sensible level. He's better than quite a few Everton players, and on his day is an excellent footballer. I hope Moyes is after him, and Pennant can be convinced to leave the RS fears at the back of his mind. Benitez didn't want him, and we do.

Another angle on this is how Moysey is making his squad, he is a cunning scotsman, Pennant has some great ability and David moyes has the savvy to know how to get the best of of his players. I hope Pennant signs, he may/maynot be good for Everton, use him for a year or so, then sell him if he doesnt work out, money in the bank, more teams need someone like Moyes to build a good strong financial foundation to ensure long term security, not just a big pay check, that may last a year or so if you get the results...

For free, I think he'd be worth a go. Certainly better than Osman on the right who was woeful last season.
If he signs, I hope he is as effective as Sheedy or Beardsley, both reds who crossed the divide to play for the Blues!

Benitez doesnt like him`cos he`s English, Because of the new Champions League rules he has to have some now.
Anoher example was Crouch, good for Liverpool but still got the chop, why?, cos he is not Spanish

everton dont need a kop flop. cant think of the last player to swap anfield for goodison down to the principle and pride of the blues. reading damo's comment, i think your a sandwich short of a picnic thinking that liverpool are a 'cash starved' club. i mean come on! liverpool only have two players that could get in the everton squad anyway. lucas sums up liverpool - wack! and as for rafa, what a pathetic loser he is. i would be embarrassed having him pick my team.
By nick.. Posted June 28 2009 at 9:59 AM.
please rafa we still need penant at anfield for next season also please jimmy dont go

To me, Pennant is better than Lucas. May be Rafa does not like the way he played. There was some offers for Pennant before but it was he who refused to go, perhaps due to disagreements on personal terms. I guess that infuriated Rafa, denying him even a chance on the bench.

come join the toffees and enjoy your football......

To some extend, he was never given the chance to prove with rafa's rotation policy. We shd let him go anywhere he wants. Rafa is to be blamed here. If he really wanted to let him go, he shld have sold him long time ago. That goes same with players like veronin and some unfit players in liverpool..

im going to stick up for pennant i dont think rafa gave him a fair go at anfield what to u expect from a 7mil player in todays money if pennant cost liverpool 15 to 20mil then u would want more frm a player rafas team selection with pennant was confusing to say the least in one week out the next its happining again with babel playing out of his position its seems to me some players under rafa get the 1 chance and 1 chance only keane knows that feeling as do vorrin pennant babbel yet rafa keeps playing lucas keeps turning the ball over is slow yet keeps getting picked confused i am

Can someone sensible tell me why our cash starved club did not have the common sense to sell him last season. Another £6m down the drain. Rafa and co havent got a clue.
By Damo.. Posted June 28 2009 at 12:15 AM.
pennant is this years harry kewell , if you care anything about liverpool NEVER ever mention to anyone you played for liverpool fc
By karl.. Posted June 28 2009 at 12:25 AM.
From all Everton fans PLEASE DONT SIGN.
By Joe.. Posted June 28 2009 at 12:25 AM.
Just get your lousy butt out the door dude. Making us lose money on you when we gave you a chance to resurrect your carreer on the big stage is not excusable! Going to Everton would be just like you!
