LAURA ROBSON suffered an injury scare just hours before her Wimbledon debut - but will strap herself up to face Daniela Hantuchova in the first round this week.

The 15-year-old Brit - who won junior Wimbledon last summer - suffered a knee injury in her super tie-break defeat at the hands of Portuguese Michelle Larcher de Brito in the final of a junior event in Liverpool on Saturday.

The Brit received ice-pack treatment for her knee during the match, which she lost after a 1-1 draw in sets.

But four-time Wimbledon finalist Serena Williams insists Robson can still be a big hit at SW19. Williams said: "She won the juniors last year and is playing well. She did well in the juniors at the Australian Open so she'll have a really good chance."

GB women's tennis coach Nigel Sears added: "She's got a good head on her shoulders - although she has a long way to go."
