MANCHESTER UNITED will reward the loyalty of Nemanja Vidic with a £1million-a-year pay rise.
United feared that another big name could be heading for the Old Trafford exit following interest from Barcelona and AC Milan.
And there are claims the Serbian defender's wife Ana is becoming unsettled in England.
But Vidic has said that he sees his long-term future with Sir Alex Ferguson's Premier League champions, which will not go unrewarded.
The player is contracted until 2012 and currently earns around £50,000 a week.
United will move quickly so that Vidic, 27, joins the likes of Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov on around £75,000 a week.
A United insider said: "The club recognise Nemanja's current standing within the team and want to put him further off limits."

Vidic is the bomb!!!sometimes i wonder what merits player's salary increments.the salary should reflect the players contribution on the pitch.he is more important than berbatov and carrick.

It's good Vidic doesn't want to go,it wuld have been too bad if 3 important players leave United. But i think he should be paid as much as Rio and Rooney bcos he is an outstanding Player
