Villa chief Martin O'Neill is willing to pay Atletico Madrid £7million for the 22-year-old.
Jurado, who was part of the Spanish Under-21 side defeated 2-0 by England on Thursday night, enjoyed a superb campaign on loan at Mallorca last season.
The midfielder scored nine times and helped his loan club to a top 10 finish in La Liga.
But Villa have hit a snag in their pursuit of Real Madrid's Dutch star Royston Drenthe after Italian giants Fiorentina reached a preliminary agreement to sign the 22-year-old winger.
