CITY IN £10M BONUS

Mark Hughes and players will share mega jackpot for top six finish

MANCHESTER CITY boss Mark Hughes and his players will land an incredible £10million bonus pot if they qualify for the Champions League next season.

Hughes has been told owner Sheikh Mansour expects a top-six finish. And Sport of the World understands plans are being drawn up to introduce one of the biggest bonus structures in football.

And it leaves in the shade rivals Manchester United, whose squad were paid £6m for doing the Premier League and Champions League DOUBLE last year.

A City insider said: "The owners will continue to demonstrate their ambition. That includes a bonus structure which not only recognises outright success, but key development stages, like qualifying for Europe.

"The figures mooted are off the chart. Goodness knows what they will pay for winning anything."

I was a huge fan of Hughes when he was playing for United. I hope he will be successful with City.
