Midfielder offered deal to ward off Aston Villa

CHRIS McCANN is being offered a four-year contract extension by Burnley to ward off interest from Aston Villa.

Boss Owen Coyle said of McCann, 21, and his young side: "I am excited about how they will do."

Fellow midfielder Graham Alexander, 37, has also agreed a new one-year deal.
