SAMIR CARRUTHERS, highly-rated skipper of Arsenal Under-16s, has stunned the Gunners by walking out to join Aston Villa.
Carruthers, a 15-year-old London schoolboy tipped for a big future, was offered a two-year scholarship by boss Arsene Wenger but he turned it down to sign for Martin O'Neill.
League One Brentford have plunged Dagenham into crisis by swooping for Danny Foster, Ben Strevens and Sam Saunders. They were out of contract, so hard-up Daggers will not cash in.

samir is a widly talented footballer who i am a friend of his being at the same school as him for the last five year, i think that by snubbing arsenal is the for the better of him for his career as he will have a greater chance of making first team at villa rather than arsenal.

So Samir caruthers has defected to Villa, eh? Let me guess, is because that kid thought to be easier to go to Afganistand and Iraq? The reason I say this it was reported the other day than an insurgent killed was wearing Aston Villa T-shirt?

Time for some more Arsenal ribbing at work - agree with the first post- maybe his French is not good enough or he does not like Haribo from Wenger:)
He is a great prospect - it does not matter which way arsenal try to make it sound unimportant- it shows again how good Villa's academy is. Villa have been quietly picking up young talent to add to the great prospects Villa have been producing themselves for some time now :) Up the Villa!

I guess his french wasn't good enough??

Guy, actually I think you'll find Arsenal youths played Villa twice this season, once in the league & once in the youth cup. Arsenal won both matches.
By GMR. Posted June 21 2009 at 8:00 AM.
yes arsenal wn the youth this year, villa were unucky and arsenal never faced them. Consistent? Villa's reserves (full of youth players) win the reserve league consistently. Yeah you sound kinda dumb now.

Guy.........Arsenal are the current youth champions of England
So much for Villa's for consistency eh?

Micheal I think you'll find Arsenal are the more successful side at youth level. Don't forget Arsenal have won the youth cup 3 times in the past ten years
Samir is a good player but it would have been hard for him to make it at Arsenal.

wenger really needs to sign a lot of players ,and not only just players am talking of experience player ,because we really lacking experience when it comes to all an important match...i really mean an important match....

'Stunned the Gunners'?
This has been expected for quite a while now. If he was a big enough talent, he'd have been confident enough of breaking through at Arsenal. No big loss to us.
