Andreas Kotelnik almost certain to quit O2 clash

AMIR KHAN'S world title hopes were thrown into turmoil after WBA light-welterweight champion Andreas Kotelnik appeared certain to pull out of their fight later this month.

The Olympic silver medallist, 22, is due to challenge the Ukrainian at London's O2 Arena on June 27.

But Kotelnik is recovering from a mouth operation and has demanded a postponement after a tooth infection.

Promoter Frank Warren is certain the fight will eventually go ahead but wants a replacement to fight Khan this month. Unbeaten American Lamont Peterson, the WBO champion, could step in.
