The Czech midfielder has been out with a persistent knee injury since January 2008 and has undergone surgery to cure the problem.
Rosicky has been told by boss Arsene Wenger that he has until the end of his contract next summer to show he can again be a key player for the Gunners.
Rosicky said: "If I find the form I had before my injury then I will play. Wenger was frustrated when I told him I would need to undergo more surgery. "But he has not tried to kick me out so he has faith in me."

thank goodness the czech maestro is back. arsenal needs a player who can bend the ball to the far corner when the chips are down and Tomas is the man. pray arshavin and fab would be fit for the season.

Good. Really hope the operations fixed his problems and he can get his old form back or even better. This guy was fantastic and its no coincidence that our drop in form in the 07/08 season happened when he went out injured. This guy playing alongside Arshavin and Fabregas could be awesome!

Amen. By far the greatest player ever when fit. Our own christiano, just more defensive and a lover of his club. I love this dude!
God bless and heal you. Let that be your last injury. From now on, you will always be fit and will come back better than you were.
God bless!

I love Arsenal not just for the way we play but the way we handle situations like this. In this day and age many Managers would of released Rosicky because of he's injury history. When this guy gets fully fit he will be very influential and will want to give the team he's all because we are all behind him. Although saying all of this I think we should buy another winger, because even if Rosicky is fit at the start of the season he's not going to be able to play many games. Otherwise he could get injured again. We could push Gibbs or Torare into the winger position also. Rosicky I hope to see you playing a few games for us next season God bless u

Rosicky is a nice midfielder no denying that wenger should give him more time.

I think most teams have insurance for this sort of thing. The insurance company would be paying the wages not the club.
Rosicky was class before his injury curse. If he can be a similar level of player he will be massively influential next year, like a new signing.

Agree with Tom: Contracts are 'all-binding' when in a player's favour, yet are apparently worthless when not.
I like Rosicky, he's a good player and a nice guy, but 18 months on full pay without being able to kick a ball - and no idea when he'll be able to come back - it's madness.
Clubs need to start putting in clauses whereby if someone is sidelined long term, then their pay must eventually drop to half pay - as happens to most of the rest of us.
Let's face it, going from 50 grand a week to 25 grand a week isn't exactly going to put them on the poverty line is it?

Again we see how players are the winners in Professional Football Contracts. Paid handsomely when injured yet the Contract is only a piece of paper when they want to walk out i.e Hleb, Cole etc!

hmmm...hes a quality player yes...but with all the injury problem and surgery will definitly effect his leg and also prformance...we pay quite alot to gain him...but but i cant see he shine in the next season if he still not playing before the start of the season....right now we need a quick boost in the squad...i think maybe we should see his form on the 1st part of the season and if he still injured or not performing maybe its time to offload him and beside we got adequate backup for him i think with the likes of nasri, arshavin, denilson and the cptn in there...

Excellent news! Good luck Thomas. You deserve it and can't wait to see you return to us healthy and lethal!

I'm glad Arsene's giving him another chance. I rate Tomas very highly. I feel for the man whose career has been riddled with injuries. He's pure class, technically complete, his vision is exceptional, he is incredibly mobile, his touch is amazing and he has the best shot on the squad (or had-we will see as the season progresses). Wenger is a man of compassion as well as integrity so giving Rosicky another season to prove his worth is not only humane but practical. I believe the Czech Republic captain will come good-I will pray for him to stay fit and regain the lofty form and standards that we held him to ever since we saw him destroy in the 06' World Cup.
We will be praying Tomas because a midfield powerhouse of Arshavin, Fabregas, Nasri, and Rosicky would be deadly to any team. Stay fit Rosicky...we love you more than you know.
