Tevez is set to snub Manchester United's bid to persuade him to stay at Old Trafford even after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
City are still favourites to land the Argentina striker - but Chelsea have now told Tevez's agents they would be interested in a deal.
New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti's top target is Bayern Munich's French star Franck Ribery. But with Roman Abramovich willing to spend big, Tevez would also be a major addition.
Tevez wants to stay in the Premier League and would prefer not to uproot his family from the north-west.
That leaves City in pole position. But Chelsea would be more than able to meet his £120,000-a-week wage demand as well as agent Kia Joorabchian's £30m valuation.

Tevez will be better-off with City.He can form a dangerous partnership with Robinho. This is what City fans are hoping for.He can also be assured of a regular place.

Not sure Chelsea can afford him

Tevez is a very good player but he is not worth the 35million (10 Mil loan fee and 25mil for a permanent transfer) Kia wants from UTD. I really hope he stays @ UTD but if he goes so be it SAF should try and sign: Benzema, Silva, Huntelaar or Ashley Young, and a holding midfielder De Rossi or Mamadu Diarra. Add a few young players to boot Delph and Naughton

To Truebluesteve
Your comment about players only going to city for the money and to come back when you have won something. This type of rubbish is usually spouted by Chelsea supporters whose club won almost nothing in it's history and was on the verge of going bankrupt until the Russian bought it. You really ought to say nothing because if the Russian goes, Chelski could end up where they have spent most of their existence.... In the lower leagues. So little boy you come back and spout off when Chelsea have won something not bought it by paying hundreds of millions of pounds of somebody elses money....

Chelsea are a spent force, or spent farce to be more specific. Man City are the team of the moment and I am not even a City fan.
Fans up and down the country hate Chelsea as much as they hate Man Utd. The neutrals team of choice will be Man City next season.....

Its not about the money.its about footballing.Tevez must come in Ancelloti's side bcoz he was been under treated in man u.i say city is a Gud team but they hav poor manager who made city to lose many games.the best possible move for Tevez is 2 come to bridge.

To All the Citeh fans that have posted here.
The only players who want to join your club are those who want more money, not those who have ambition - Gareth Barry, Robinho etc. Kaka turned you down even though you offered more than Real did for him. You dont have Champions League football next season (and I believe Chelsea do!) and I dont think Mark Hughes is the right manager. Come back and talk to Chelsea fans when you have won something. I suspect that maybe a long way off.

Tevez will shock the world by moving to stamford bridge.

I would love Tevez at the Bridge. We will see . He may want A season's rest from the Champions league before the World cup.
I can't see any other reason why he would sign for City over Utd.
Wouldn't be surprised if Real come in with last minute bid. Either since Real have inflated the Market there are not many players around at that price with his skill and work rate. Great player

i want chelses to sign carlos tevez, becaues he is a champions leugue player and that could add more strenght to the attack. i want chelsea to win the premier leugue next season.

Come on Roman everyone knows you have a few quid but when it comes down to it you are not in the same league as Man City's owners. If Tevez was to sign a 5 year contract with anyone I'm convinced he'd win more silverware at City than an ageing Chelsea side that needs fortunes speding on it.
