ANDY MURRAY hopes to trigger a major assault on Wimbledon by becoming the king of Queen's this week.

The Scot tops the bill for the AEGON championship at London's Queen's Club after injured world No 1 Rafael Nadal withdrew from the defence of his crown.

World No 3 Murray reached the French Open quarter-finals but is likely to be an even bigger threat at Wimbledon.

Murray said: "Ideally, I'd have a decent run at Queen's. I love it as a tournament and I really enjoy playing there.

"I am looking forward to the grass-court season. I enjoy this time of year and it is nice to spend a bit of time in your own bed. I have got great support and go in confident."

Murray has a bye through to the second round where he will play either Italian Andreas Seppi or the American Robby Ginepri.

Should the seedings go to plan, he would face Frenchman Gael Monfils in the semis and American Andy Roddick in the final.

Roger Federer can secure his place in history today by beating Swede Robin Soderling in the French Open final.

He would equal Pete Sampras's record of 14 grand slams and become only the sixth man to have won all four of the big titles.
