JOHN TERRY issued a stirring World Cup rallying call as Fabio Capello extended his perfect qualification record to six matches.

Wayne Rooney scored his sixth qualifying goal as the Three Lions triumphed on the sixth day of the sixth month to make it six wins from six at the top of Group Six!

And England skipper John Terry roared: "It was really important to get six wins out of six. It's massive. Now we have Andorra at home on Wednesday and have to get into them."

The England skipper was in belligerent mood after his team survived some early scares to cruise past Kazakhstan in the Central Stadium in Almaty.

Terry declared: "People talk about Spain being the best technical side but we have got world class players such as Stevie G, Lamps and Gareth Barry who can dictate games.

"Six out of six is great but there is far more to come from this team. We are heading in the right direction and I'm convinced we'll be where Fabio wants us to be next summer."

It was an upbeat message from Terry despite England being less than totally convincing in the early stages of the victory.

The Chelsea star said: "That is a massive win on the way to where we want to be. It really is a big win.

"It was a difficult game. We knew that was going to be the case. For the first 40 to 50 minutes, I thought they worked really well, but after that they seemed to tire.

"We came into our own and kept the ball a lot better in the second half. It was a great performance in the end.

"It was a good way to continue our impressive start to the campaign and six wins out of six is fantastic.

"We're not there yet, we're in a good position but taking nothing for granted. We've got Andorra at home and they can sit back and make it difficult. But if we can get the seventh win out of seven, it will be fantastic."

But Capello, who was ranting and raving during the opening exchanges, admitted he was "disappointed" at how England started against the eastern European minnows.

He said: "I was disappointed with some players' positions on the pitch. I couldn't get my message across. But, obviously, I am now very happy. It was not easy to play here and they started very strongly.

"When you play against a side that is not at the same level as you, then they always start strongly. But they drop a level after a goal against them.

"We were a bit lucky not to be 1-0 down but their goal was offside. It was not a goal. And even if it has stood, we would have won 4-1!"

Victory against Andorra at Wembley on Wednesday will virtually rubber-stamp England's passage to next summer's finals.

But Capello is not getting ahead of himself. He declared: "We are not sure of qualification but it is another step forward. If we have 21 points, then it is a lot and we will be happy with 21 points.

"We are not talking about the World Cup, we have to play game after game and after the next year I hope we will be in South Africa and then we can talk about it."

Terry was particularly delighted that Manchester City's new £12million recruit Barry was among the scorers.

He laughed: "I was very pleased for him because he's had a busy week."

Steven Gerrard continued the theme of not counting any chickens, saying: "It's a thankless task because everyone is expecting us to keep a clean sheet and score loads of goals.

"We are winning comfortably but there are bigger tests down the road and we need to keep improving, keep learning.

"If we win on Wednesday, we're in the box seat, just one win away.

"It's important not to get carried away, to be professional and get the job done. Then we'll go into the more difficult games with more confidence, knowing we're one step away."

Frank Lampard's late penalty capped a great few days for the Chelsea midfielder after his FA Cup final winner last weekend.

He said: "It has been a good week, obviously the FA Cup final was a big highlight. But we had to get our heads down and work hard this week and focus on this game.

"I think it was a professional performance - we can obviously do better and we can learn from it. We have taken a big step again but we have another big one on Wednesday

"We have to beat Andorra and then once we have done that then we are nearly there."

David Beckham, who made another late appearance from the substitutes' bench, joined Terry in claiming that this England team have what it takes to make a major impact in South Africa next summer.

He said: "There's huge potential in this squad. We've got great players but it is just about playing the way we know we can play."

As we could expect. England win a few simple games and they start roaring again. Already reserved a place for the worldcup!! have you!!
Its always the same. If there was a worldcup roaring then England would definatly be unbeatable. JT, let England win something first and then you may talking.

here we go again! bigging ourselves up only to be a major dissapointment to the nation again in 2010! when are we going to realise that the world have not only caught us up but surpassed us in most sporting areas! and like many hyped up performances before this is yet another one! we should just enjoy the qualifying results and make the most of the group games because i can,t see us progressing after them with our current team! afterall cappello,s only a manager and not a magician!

Don't be too hard on them getting excited about beating the lowly teams. Think how bad it would be if we hadn't won. These games are just tune ups and everything is in working order so far. Patience !

John Terry is delusional Kazakhstan is not brazil or italy, last time i saw england up against a quality team it was spain and we where not exactly world class then more like bottom of the class!

By joe. Posted June 7 2009 at 1:34 PM.

it wasnt a terrible game and yes kazakhstan cud easily of gone 2-0 up, but wen we realisd they were a threat we took it up a gear admittedly onli to 2nd but still, and of course terry is going to say that if he had came out and said...oh yh well that game doesnt reli prove much its kazakhstan...then that wud of been direspectful and well mayb we need to b winning these games to get our confidence back, stop being so pesimistic and have faith!!

my son fell asleep in the first half. It was a dull, lazy performance by players thinking of their holiday. They were lucky in the first half but eventually the massive difference in ability and fitness won. As it should against such a poor team. But to hear terry start those familiar cries of we can beat anyone...oh no, please shut up! Let each game do the talking and when we have won something you can talk!

Spain are way ahead of us still. You can´t beat the 130th or whatever team in the world and start all that baloney...despite scoreline it was unconvincing. They could have been 2-0 up quickly and England were well off pace. It was a relief when the goals came.

terry we won against a pub team, dont u remember a few months ago when spain gave us a lesson. it happens every time we play against a crap team and we beat them all of a sudden we all think we are world champions. we will never be world champions not 4 a long time, and u wont b playing.

Some English cricket captain said the same a couple of days ago.

Its almost useless basing your hopes of a good WC on your team's form during qualification. The WC is beast of a different nature.

Still quality will out in round robin and we can take pride in our boys achievement. Top of our group, six wins out of six, most goals scored of any European team. It looks good for the World cup.

Should note Spain and Holland have won all their matches and conceded less goals then us. Spain's my tip to win it, quality strikers and one of the best midfields in international football ever.

By btman. Posted June 7 2009 at 3:24 AM.

lets face it, england beat a team that a good conference team would beat and terry turns round and says we can beat anybody what a joke this guy is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess after they beat the might of andorra on wed it will be bring on spain, italy, brazil lol.....

By steve. Posted June 7 2009 at 3:13 AM.

England can beat any team - that aren't genuinely good

By Keith Price. Posted June 7 2009 at 2:01 AM.

we can beat anyone?? i am sure i have heard that before?? o thats right. EVERY would cup final and every euro championship final since i can remember. its time to stop talking crap and start proving it. if you won things for talking terry would have won the lot in the league and the last euro and world cup. in fact if he played as well as he talks we would be world beaters. the FACT is we flop it everytime. stop talking and prove it on the pitch. after tonights performance i am STILL not convinced.
