Martin Johnson admits: It's a bit of a Bals-up

TRY AND MIGHTY - Iain Balshaw goes over for a try for the Barbarians

MARTIN JOHNSON was mugged by three of his World Cup-winning mates at Twickenham.

And the England boss admits his side must make massive improvements if they are to beat Argentina next week after this sloppy display.

His side made several blunders to hand retiring Baa-baas skipper Martin Corry and Josh Lewsey a perfect Twickers send-off.

His third old team-mate Iain Balshaw also grabbed two of five tries as the Barbarians romped into a 33-5 lead. England rallied bravely but boss

Jonno rapped: "It's very disappointing the way we conceded the first two tries. Maybe there was a little bit of rustiness there. We came back but at times our basic skills weren't good enough.

"The Barbarians moved the ball a lot. We had opportunities to turn them over but let them get away with it and gave away two weak tries.

"It's frustrating. The standard of performance you expect is higher than that - and they know that.

"Next week will be a different type of performance. Argentina know how to win a Test match. We need to figure them out."

Wing Ben Foden got England's first try and fly-half Andy Goode set up late scores for new-boys Jordan Turner-Hall, Tom May and Matt Banahan.

SCORERS - England: Tries: Foden, Turner-Hall, May, Banahan. Cons: Goode 3. Barbarians: Tries: Balshaw 2, Jack, Elsom, D'Arcy. Cons: Blair 4.
