THIERRY HENRY WINNING FITNESS BATTLE

Barca's ex-Arsenal star desperate to face Manchester United

THIERRY HENRY is winning his battle to face old rivals Manchester United in Rome.

The former Arsenal striker has been on the sidelines since limping away from the 6-2 thrashing of Real Madrid at the beginning of the month.

And, along with key playmaker Andres Iniesta, the Frenchman is a major doubt for Wednesday's Champions League Final.

But a Nou Camp source said: "Thierry's been flying behind closed doors. He's desperate to make it and he is sure he will."

Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi have scored a staggering 97 goals between them this season.

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola now seems certain to start with Henry, although he is more concerned about Iniesta's thigh injury.

Guardiola also has full-backs Eric Abidal and Dani Alves suspended, with experienced centre-back Carlos Puyol likely to fill in at right-back and either former Arsenal defender Sylvinho or midfielder Seydou Keita taking the left-back spot.

It is no doubt that everyone would like to watch such a football icon play on the D-day irrespective of the club you belong. Its very certain people acknowledge Barcelona's long time attept to showcase what we can see as the real football... though sympathy and sentiments have a very little thing to do here in Rome.
