'People are dirty and scruffy and women don't care about themselves'
ANDREY ARSHAVIN'S gorgeous girlfriend has landed him in hot water - by branding Londoners 'dirty and scruffy'.
In an extraordinary tirade on the Russian superstar's website, Julia - the mother of their two children and the person he calls his wife - insists she hates the capital, English food and was homesick after spending just a few days in England.

She wrote: "As far as London's citizens are concerned, I didn't like them at all. They are very dirty, scruffy. London is a very dirty city. The women there don't care about themselves and what they look like.
"They are very scruffy. Often you see a woman in a street gobbling up a hamburger with grease dropping on her dress. English food is disgusting. It doesn't taste good and the price doesn't correspond to the quality. I didn't like English beer, either.
"I can't understand how the whole of England can drink it at lunchtime. Although I was only there a few days, I was homesick. I wanted to go back to my St Petersburg home."

People, you're all so mean and selfloving! What would you have said yourself, if you'd have to move to a city in a differet conrty, without having friends or relatives? I bet her english isnt so good, so she probably has problems with communicating. And no one said St P is very clean, it's just that London is dirty. Take it or leave it, they dont wash the road with soap each day and we do see cans here and there. Why dont you listen to what the girl says, she isnt offending London, she's just giving her oppinion. Grow up, guys. London's no paradise, I must say, there isnt one on Earth at all.

What a stupid thing to say. Sure London has it's downsides but it's one of the most prosperous and diverse cities in the world.
Plus she's hardly in much of a position to talk about English women, sure she's pretty groomed herself but when was the last time anyone saw an average Russian woman who didn't look like she'd borrowed her heavyknit jumper from Goodwill purely because the brown matched her beard...?

How funny! I can't be offended by this, it's just too comical! I'm a Londoner born and bred (south east baby!). And of course I can say these things but she cannot! Yeah it's dirty and expensive and all those things, but what it comes down to is it's the capital of the country, thus giving it lifetime validation for whatever it wants. And you northerners... you're just crazy jealous you're not from London too! London rocks it and you ALL know it!!

Couldn't agree more. English women have the biggest behinds in the whole of Europe and only time they are not telling us how equal and liberated they are is when they are stuffing the hole with some disgusting kind of meat pie. As for English beer that hasn't existed for about a hundred years; all you get now is a load of fizzy chemical flavours with a bit of alcohol mixed in. Live on that and no wonder they end up stupid.

i do agree, that London is dirty. but this is the problem of big cities where there r plenty of tourists n foreigners. the same situation is in st. petersburg.but after having spend in such a place a bit longer, than just a couple of days u always find some things, that make ur staying amazing. London as well as St. Petersburg has so many beautiful places, that it doesn`t matter whether it`s dirty or not. what about people - it`s just kinda different mentality. n u can meet many nice n intelligent people wherever u r

Obviously she hasn't been out in St Petersburg properly. All those drunks hanging around the main stations, they need to clean the place up! It would be funny if she got drunk and a taxi driver dropped her off on an estate in Peckham one night, then she might really have something to complain about!
ps: all the scousers and the rest from the north west can shut it - don't forget you've got the slums of Moss side, Toxteth and such like, I know as my friends live in manchester and I've lived there myself.Your beer is warm and about refreshing as a dead fish!Why do you think the Arshavins wanted to live in London?

That is a generalisation if i ever heard one, its like saying all Russians are crooks. Doesn't she know that a bundle of Millionaires/Billionaires are Russian in this country. London is one of THE premier cities to be in, in the world. She needs to get with it, plus she has no dame choice.

Yulia here is exhibiting a typical new rich mentality. It is absolutely hilarious! What I mean is that she has probably came from a little town or a village in Russia and all that money got to her head. Just look at her pictures on the internet... Her taste in clothes is a typical village girl turned WAG - tacky and cheap looking. I don't really care what she thinks about London. I am from Russia and lived in London for 18 years and can not fault the place once. Where does she hang out, I wonder? Under the bridge in Finsbury Park? Just joking. What is important - she is shallow and not clever and does not realise that she is not doing any publicity favours to her hubby. Get a life Yulia.

I agree wit Mrs Asharvin,London is one of the dirtiest cities in the western world,everywhere is been littered with garbages,go to germany and sum oda places u will see the diffrence and i think london girls ar a lil bit dirty also,all they do is drink and smoke dere life out,But Madam asharvin u nid to forget home and accept london as yur new home.

The lady is entitled to her opinions but she really should wait until she has met the real Londoners. Plus I'm sure she hasn't seen all of our lovely city, It has it's good and bad areas. But one thing is for sure they will not be living there. The beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire will probably be there home along with many of the other rich footballers. How many of us would love the opportunity to live the lives that they moan about. You really don't know when you are well off Mrs Arshavin. On your husband's salary you will be able to afford to fly home every week.

I agree with her totally - London is a hole. Compared to other cities in the UK it feels like the third world. I have lived in several cities in the North and Scotland and would never live in London - no comparison.

She's probably right about London. However, having visited St Petersburg and Moscow on many occasions, they certainly beat London hands down for dirty and scruffy people. The most popular brand of aftershave in these cities smells like a mixture of stale tobacco and vodka and it stays in your nose a long time after you leave.

I've been to St. Petersburg, where apart from the architecture....the city is hardly paradise. I would like to see the statistics of alcoholism in Russia in comparison to the UK. There were a lot of beggars and drunks on the streets - and they were far from clean. Pot, kettle......black!

We have allways been scruffy and Slobs. Look at our Mayor. We are not superficial. Russia is a country of new riche. The young people there who have money love to fluant it and see wealth as class. We have suffered from years of bad influence by tv and press which has seen working class people lose their community spirit. Instead every one behaves in the crass way that programmes like eastenders have portrayed them. She is right this is not a great place to live these days. The Thatcher/ Blair/ Brown Legesy is a nation which sold its Soul to the devil of selfishness and greed. Watch out Russia this is your future.

She is entitled to her opinion. London is a **** hole. Coming from the north west of England I have always thought this. The food is rubbish and overpriced and the beer is nothing like what we drink in the north west. As for the women, well, they seem to be the same everywhere now. They do not take any pride in themselves. This girl has taken one little look and come to the conclusions as me.....leave her alone, she is telling the truth.
