BRETT ORMEROD IS BACK

Striker returns to his spiritual home - Bloomfield Road

THE end of the transfer window saw Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda all back at Spurs but I reckon the most successful returning player will be Brett Ormerod.

The striker is back at Blackpool, his spiritual home, and for a good deal less than Spurs paid for their heroes!

It's often the case that managers will sign a player more than once. Just in this transfer window, we've seen Defoe sign for Harry Redknapp for the third time in his career, Emile Heskey re-join Martin O'Neill and Craig Bellamy back playing for Mark Hughes.

Managers love having players around them they can trust, while players like working with bosses who will bring the best out in them.

Peter Taylor has taken Junior Lewis everywhere with him - from Dover to Gillingham to Leicester to Brighton to Hull and now to Wycombe, where Junior is his assistant.

When I was at Hull, we used to joke with Junior that Taylor must have been his Dad because he looked after him so well!

Novel

But when you look at it, I think they have got six or seven promotions together and they are now top of League Two, so the partnership clearly works. I'm just waiting to find a manager who loves me...

While the lads have been freezing in the snow this week I have been warm and cosy in our 'fantastic' gym at the training ground. In truth, it's actually colder inside than outside at our Squires Gate base.

I tried to warm myself up doing a few weights and that's when I noticed that we must be the only place that still have dumbbells measured in pounds and not kilos.

Taylor had some novel ideas in training, especially in bad weather. Once when it was snowing, he said we had five minutes to each to build the biggest snowball and there would be a forfeit for the loser.

After some dubious judging, Jonny Walters lost out and was forced to dive headlong into the biggest snowball!
