CHELSEA goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is set to sign for Tottenham today.

The Italian is due for talks at Spurs to discuss a switch from Stamford Bridge. The long-serving keeper, 35, is in the last six months of a lucrative Chelsea contract, with the Blues ready to reward his loyalty by granting him a free transfer to their London rivals.

Cudicini, 35, joined Chelsea in 1999 from Italian village side Castel Di Sangro and soon established himself as one of the top keepers in the Premier League. But when the Blues signed Petr Cech in 2004 he lost his first-team place.

Henrique Hilario, 33, will now become Cech's understudy. Redknapp has been looking for cover for Heurelho Gomes after a nightmare start to his Premier League career.

All these Chelski fans saying dont believe everything you read.

Well its a DONE DEAL. Signed sealed and delivered. Spurs are a better club than Chelski anyway. He'll still be number 2 to Gomez.

Hotspur said, he's shown no ambition?

Alan LUCAS said in reply, At a top side, winning trophies and well paid, happy in his work? I wish I was just as unabmbitious!

I say, yes no ambition Alan. Ambition is wanting to be number 1, Not sitting on the bench week in week out doing nothing. He's happy to sit on his ar$e on collect his wage packet. Cant blame him, i would. He's only going to be another number 2 at Spurs. Why not join a club were your going to be playing, its called NO AMBITION.

well i was at chelsea yesterday, and im sorry to say spurs fans, carlo didnt act like a player that was on his way out, plus scolari has said no, wilkins has said no, and kenyon has stressed on numerous occasions we wont be adding to or selling any more of our squad. So ill believe this one when i see it.

Better keeper than Gomes

My only worry is that he aint shown much ambition over that last 5 years has he? We need winners with passion and fire not more also-rans and nearly men.

Now thats true loyalty, not the Shay Given definition of loyalty which after declaring to the poor Geordies attempt to jump onto a sinking ship being navigated by a clueless captain.........Man City anyone?
