Eastlands set to hijack Tottenham’s bid to sign midield star Wilson

MANCHESTER CITY were last night set to hijack Tottenham's bid to sign Honduras midield star Wilson Palacios.
Spurs agreed a £13million deal to sign him on Friday - but City swooped to match the bid.
Talks were continuing after City beat Wigan 1-0 at Eastlands yesterday.
Wigan boss Steve Bruce confirmed that another club had made a bid for Palacios - but denied a report that it was Manchester United.
He said after yesterday's game: "The club involved is not far from where we are now. And it is not true it is Manchester United."
Bruce is ready to offer Palacios a new contract to stay at Wigan - but is resigned to losing him.

Really hope spurs go down this year they have contributed nothing to the english top flight for twenty years or so. Good luck to city all these people saying it will ruin football if they sign kaka are talking jealous nonsense I cant wait to see him in the prem anyway enough of them come on liverpool bring home the championship pleaseeeeeeeee.

Defoe wanted to go back to Spurs because they are in London,and because he was "approached" the same reason Bellamy wants to go there. Hes in London with West Ham and wants to stay in London but wants a bigger pay day.

Why would any player want to go to the bottom club when he can be part of the steady march towards champions league, earn mega bucks and eventually many many trophies.

I dont hate City now, I think its wicked u can do to Chelsea what they've been doing to everyone for the last few years, beware though, Chelsea are now in such a bad state financially as are you already, any money spent by the new owners has to be sustainable by the club due to turnover and signing all the top names BETTER make you a champions league side, if not, you'll find you'll have a lot of angry arabs demanding that Manchester City PLC pay back every penny BORROWED from the Abu Dhabi consortium, the same way Abramovich could do at any time with Chelsea!

Let city have him and any other player that they are prepared to pay ridiculous amounts of money for, let Harry get someone in that won´t have a telephone number price tag to live up to, someone that has something to prove....trust in Harry and Levy!

It is good that Man City or some other team also gets involved, at least when Pallacios joins a club we will all know if its for the money or not.
Spurs should sign Bellamy simply coz he wants to sign for Spurs instead of Man City which in my opinion goes a long way.
Defoe turned down a move to Man City only team he wanted to go was Spurs.
Only sign players who wants to play for the club.
