We always aim to improve the services we offer. As a result we occasionally canvass our customers using surveys.

From time to time, we ask customers whether they wish to participate in User Groups, often to assist us in the development of new features, services or sites.

Email a Friend

We may from time to time operate a "Tell a friend" service. This is a referral service, designed to make it easy for customers to recommend our websites or offers to a friend, and is a two-step process.

First, a customer sends us the friend's name and email address, and secondly, we contact the friend, telling them who we are, and inviting them to take advantage of a particular offer, or to visit our website.

When we contact your friend, we always advise them of the name and email address of the friend who made the original referral. We will not use your friend's details for any other purpose.

• Set up links to the Internet edition of The News of the World website at http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk without the express written permission via e-mail or letter of the webmaster.

We retain the absolute right to prevent you accessing the Internet Edition, without prejudice to any of our accrued rights, where we in our sole discretion consider you are contravening our Acceptable Use Policy or any other aspect of these Terms.

2. Liabilities You agree that we have no control over third party content and information which can be accessed using the Internet Edition and that we do not examine or edit the use to which you or others put the Internet Edition or the nature of the content or information being accessed and that we are excluded from all liability of any kind arising from such content or information.

We exclude any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality, accuracy, timeliness, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of the Internet Edition. You agree that except for death or personal injury arising through our negligence, we shall not be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage arising from the Internet Edition. Indemnity You agree to indemnify and hold us, and any of our officers, employees and agents harmless from and against all and any expenses, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses of any character incurred or suffered and any claims or legal proceedings which are brought or threatened, in each case arising from your use of, or conduct on, the Internet Edition and/or a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy and /or any of these Terms

5. Partner's Sites and Links For your interest and/or amusement, from time to time we will make available hypertext links from the Internet Edition to third party sites and partner sites both within and outside European Union. However, these sites are not in any way approved, checked, edited, vetted or recommended by us and you agree that we shall not be liable in any way for the content of such sites or for any dealings that you may have, or the consequences of such dealings, with such third party site operators. In particular you agree that any dealings you have with such third party site operators shall be on the terms and conditions (if any) of the third party operator.

Software The material and content provided with the Internet Edition is for your personal, non-commercial use only, save where expressly provided, and you agree not for yourself or through or by way of assistance to any third party distribute or commercially exploit such material or content. All intellectual property rights, including the trade mark "News of the World", and in particular copyright in content provided on the site vests in us (or is expressly licensed to us).

You may make a copy of this content for your personal non-commercial use only provided that you keep all copyright and other proprietary notices intact, and you agree not to modify, reproduce, republish, upload, post, distribute or otherwise transmit or use the content provided by us in any way without our prior written consent. Additional services From time to time we may provide games and other content for your downloading, however, the download time may vary considerably between the types of content and you agree that you are wholly liable and responsible for any telephone call and/or other charges incurred in downloading the same.
