He has secretly recorded a pop album and plans to exploit the hype from the band's reunion to rocket it up the charts.
As I first revealed last month, Robbie, 34, has been trying to win over Gary
Barlow and is now considering a one-off performance with TT at their final
tour gig at Wembley on July 5.
He would join Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason to sing Back For Good during a sensational final encore. Fans are likely to go crazy, and he will exploit this hype by releasing his first single in two years just ONE MONTH after their tour.
The full album will follow in September. The good news for Robbie fans is that his music-which he has recorded in LA over the last six months -sounds very good.
The disastrous experimentation of Rudebox is gone, replaced by new pop gems that sound more like No Regrets.
Last night a source close to Robbie revealed: "He has rediscovered how to write earth shatteringly good pop anthems like Angels.
"He knows this is his last chance to make it big again.
"He needs the band to be successful again.
"And for Robbie, success and being Number One again are the only things that will make him happy now."
ROBBIE has already road tested his new songs on his CBMs (celeb best mates), Ant and Dec.
And the cheeky Geordie pair have given the thumbs up after getting the first listen.
An insider told me: "After the last couple of albums didn't do so well, Robbie was pretty nervous about the reaction to his new material. He didn't want them going to the record company until he tried them on some trusted friends. Ant and Dec loved the songs. Robbie was pretty relieved."
Execs at EMI-who signed Robbie for £80million in 2002-have now also heard it and are excited. The insider added: "Getting a new Robbie album out has become our priority. It will make him or break us."

And why exactly does Robbie need TT to relaunch his career? He's big enough in his own right to generate publicity by hinting about new material. He doesn't need to get back in the group for his own gain. If and when he does release something it'll be massive whether its good or not. Maybe I'm just not as negative as most of you lot but could this talk of a reunion, which is coming from Robbie AND Gary, actually be for us! The fans!

Booooo Robbie!

Take That do need Robbie, if they want to get on the worldwide stage..Robbie is massive in Australia, SA, Mexico, Germany, Central Europe and here. Unfortunately, our press do not report on Rob's success around the world. He has had plenty and Take That know it too. Don't you find it strange we are getting to hear about Mr Williams while Take That are promoting an album and tour? They are no fools.
and while I am here, Robbie had his 8th No.1 album with Rudebox, the single went to No.4, the same as Angels, the album went on to sell 5 million and went to No.1 14 countries.
Nah, Robbie does not need Take That. They do.

i really hope tt dont take robbie back,he is a loose cannon,he will want to be centre of attention,he will wreck the band again when it suits him, allow him a guest spot by al means to help him kick start his album, but i wouldnt even do that it may have repercussions,he is bad news,tt are not the same as when he was in it,they have grown and matured into something totally different, better, the harmonies are tight, garry as main singer is great, everyones happy, they wont be if robbie and his foolish ways tries to influence them, its not fair to say they owe him something because he was in tt at the start, kerry katona was in atomic kittens but you wouldnt want her back would you.robbie should make it up with his songwriter and make good songs again like angels

It was so obvious that Robbie is just using them!! They dont need him. All he will do is leave again and launch his solo career as soon as he gets established again. I used to be such a bog fan of his and now I much prefer Take That - without Robbie.

I think it would be fantastic if Robbie appeared with Take That.Four years ago, Mark Owen was in a club in Lancaster trying to persuade some friends of mine that he use to be in a boy band! Four years is a long time and they all need the brand name of "Take That". An ex-professional footballer friend of mine has known Robbie a long time as they are both involved in the same football club in Stoke. He says Robbie regretted not appearing with Take That on their 1st tour but he had his own tour coming up. To me , Westlife isn't the same without Brain McFadden either.. a piece is missing!

If he used Take That for that reason then id lose all respect for him as a singer and as a person, he had his chance with take that but he thought he was bigger and left, despite a multi million pound conract all he came up with was a crap album,
Take That dont need him so if i was Gary and the others id say bye bye and dont bother us again.
he had his chance but his arrogance blew it.

Robbie is the King of Flop, and him wanting to rejoin a band he disowned just proves that.
It would be a mistake for Take That to let Robbie rejoin the group. It's pretty obvious he only wants to join in hope of winning the British public's support back to relaunch his solo career.

for me , french girl, robbie is an essential member of take that but it's no good idea : the actual TT is no longer the same as robbie's .
robbie! you're the BEST pop star ever ! wake up and come back to us! we miss you so much! (and sorry i really appreciate the "rudebox" experience!)
By emilie.. Posted December 14 2008 at 7:33 PM.
robbie dont do it i was at roundhay pure class you dont need take that
By karla.. Posted December 14 2008 at 6:00 PM.
robbie would only steal the limelight if he was to join tt on tour next year! robbie fans are different to tt fans. although i am a huge fan of both and am going to see tt at sunderland next june !!!! it would be a bonus if robbie was there ! rob is as big as TT long live robbie!!!!!!!

They don't need him. There would've been no comeback if he hadn't left though. It would have been a never went away and they wouldn't be as successful as they are today. The reason they're so good at present is because they went elsewhere and did different things with their lives and careers and most importantly grew up. He didn't join them on the tour last time round because it coincided with his own tour! If they're prepared to bury the hatchet and he is in it for the right reasons, I think a reunion would be electric!

WHY ON EARTH WOULD A SUCCESSFUL GROUP LIKE TAKE THAT WANT TO RE EMPLOY A HAS BEEN LIKE WILLIAMS WHO WOULD OBVIOUSLY BE IN IT FOR HIS OWN GOOD AND NOT THEIRS.
By derek grant.. Posted December 14 2008 at 3:32 PM.
DDUHHHHH I really dont think robbie needs tt hype to benefit his own career,
he has done more than ok on his own ,,,
fair enough he had on cd that was not to good ,,
but just watch some of knebworth coverage online ,he is a superstar in his own right ,,different class ...

TT are mature and together, if Robbie comes back he will want to be number one, they are in a different league now, i.e.grown up, I fear his immaturity & druggy lifestyle could finish the group who have worked hard for their success. everyone I have spoken to have a real fear that he could destroy TT's success, he is so disruptive and could cause trouble big time.

what a load of nonsense....lmao
By mike.. Posted December 14 2008 at 12:24 PM.
take that heva earned thier own right to thier come back, but robbie was an essential part in thier success the first time round.
By JULIE CUMMINS.. Posted December 14 2008 at 12:18 PM.
Robbie had plenty of chances to get back with Take That but he didnt want to know. Now he has hit a lull in his career he wants a piece of their success. I say he has had his chance and blown it. I really like Robbie and Take That but frankly to rejoin them know is taking the mick. They have done the hard work and taken the chances and are doing fantastically well - now he wants a piece of the success - Boys if you have any sense you will very politely tell him that it is now too late
By Jane.. Posted December 14 2008 at 11:56 AM.
Knobbie only ever does things for his own gain so this is no suprise. If he is planning on turning up on stage of any of the gigs im going to then i shall want a refund!!! Funny tho really how he needs them now to boost his profile after all the sh*t he dished out over the years. I hope the new album flops on its arse just like the last pile of crap he released. Im sure Take That realise the damage having him back would do, he is a total bell end!!!!!
By SS.. Posted December 14 2008 at 10:27 AM.
No!! Dont let him back, the boys have worked so hard for this..Let Robbie get on with his own..dross!
By Leah.. Posted December 14 2008 at 9:52 AM.
Please don't let him in the TT group it will be a disaster and might end up breakinging up the group. Your great as you are.
By Martin Dale.. Posted December 14 2008 at 9:43 AM.
Take That don't need him. Sure let him pitch up for a one-off concert appearance for old times' sake but they've earned their comeback through their own hardwork, why let someone who showed them such contempt back in the group now when it's blatently just for his own publicity and infinite ego
