But I love it because it's one of the few opportunities to get away from the drama of LiLo, Wino and Britney to hang out with some true A-list legends - and those who are going to be soon.
I scored a spot on a top table thanks to event broadcaster Sky1 with Cilla Black (amazing assets for 65, it has to be said) and my old mate Noel Edmonds and his very glamorous girlfriend Liz Davies.
Highlight of the night had to be when Noel won showbiz personality of the year and paid a glowing tribute to Liz. She couldn't hold the tears back and told: "I think he must like me." Oh yes he does.
More usual CelebXS fodder was James Mcavoy - one of my favourite actors it has to be said - who picked up his best actor gong with proud girlfriend Anne-Marie Duff looking on. These two shun the limelight but are so in love. They walked out hand in hand at midnight. Bless.
But knocking back the booze at the Grosvenor House Red Bar was best TV presenter Alan Carr who picked up his award from David Walliams and joked the pair had sizzling sexual tension. Now there's a hot couple...
Here are last night's winners...
Colin Morgan - Outstanding New Talent
Sir Michael Caine - Outstanding Contribution to Showbusiness
Hairspray - Musical Theatre Award
James McAvoy - Film Award
Al Pacino - International Award
Alan Carr - TV Presenter of the Year
David Mitchell and Robert Webb - Variety Club Comedy Award
Hayley Westenra - Classical Performer of the Year

I'm so glad James McAvoy won this award. He is my favorite actor, too. He and wife, Anne-Marie, make such a great couple.
