And judging from my snaps, that's exactly what Mr A-ROD has done here.
The recently-divorced baseball star enjoyed a heart-to-heart with MADONNA's BFF - who was sporting a stunning white frock - in Miami on Friday night.
If Gwyn's grin is anything to go by, the actress was impressed with ALEX RODRIGUEZ's pitch.
The public appearance will fuel speculation that Madge plans to step out with A-Rod in public since her plans to divorce GUY RITCHIE were announced.
A source told me: "Madonna and Gwyneth are best friends so this was a very significant meeting.
"A-Rod was talking about how much he cared for Madge, and Gwyneth joked that he better not do anything to hurt her because she knows where he lives!"
Well, that's what best PALS are for . . .
