Both bands were discussing their debut appearances with organiser MICHAEL EAVIS last week.
A source at the farm told me: "Glastonbury has had some problems over the past years with JAY Z and then not selling out, but next year is going to be the best yet.
"It is the 40th anniversary so everyone is pulling out all the stops. U2 have signed up, MUSE are getting ready to put pen to paper and now the Rolling Stones are in talks to headline.
"Spandau Ballet will be another good get and they'll definitely get a plum slot on the bill. Michael's a huge fan."

i'd love to see the stones there especially with Bowie ruling himself out...can see Muse headlining too. Pretty gutted about U2..can imagine Bono getting on his soapbox more than ever with Glastonbury having ties with water aid, greenpeace, oxfam etc.....better than spandau ballet though! The ultimate coup for me personally would be Led Zep!!!

Getting a ticket would be great for The Stones .... being able to afford it even greater !

It would be utterly awesome to see the Rolling Stones at Glastonbury. Do you think they might sell out of tickets a bit quicker than when they had Jay Z headlining?

I'd frankly be impressed if Perry Como was there...

Spandau Ballet! They might as well invite The Cheeky Girls, Perry Como, Kanye West or Mr. Blobby.
