Sugababe Keisha on AWOL Amelle
KEISHA BUCHANAN last night sobbed as she told me how missing SUGABABE AMELLE BERRABAH ducked out of last week's gigs by claiming a pal had been in a CAR CRASH.
Giving an eXSclusive interview in her LA hotel room, Keisha broke down and wept: "We thought she was broken up about the accident and were really worried. We did two shows without her, genuinely thinking her friend's been in a really bad car accident.
"I said to our management can we please get the police around there because I'm really, really worried about her.
"That request didn't come from her family or (bandmate) HEIDI, it came from me. The police went round and checked on her. They said she's fine and had been home all week."
Yesterday Amelle, who vanished for four days, said she'd spoken to her bandmates but Keisha insisted: "She hasn't spoken to anyone."
Keisha, who is being comforted by close friend LEONA LEWIS in Los Angeles, says she will try and sort things out with Amelle IF she travels there to film the video for their new single this week.
"I'm not going to lie to you and say everything will be fine because I don't know. But as far as I'm concerned, we're the Sugababes; me, Heidi and Amelle.
"The reason why I'm panicking and the reason why I'm crying is because maybe Amelle wants to do things on her own for good." Keisha is distraught at claims she's jealous of Amelle's No 1 single with TINCHY STRYDER - ironically titled Never Leave You.
And she said ex-bandmate MUTYA BUENA, who Amelle replaced, is more talented.
She said: "What exactly is there to be jealous of? I've been doing things on the underground for God knows how long. Heidi's talented too. Amelle's really talented but the most talented person I've ever been around in my life was Mutya."
Keisha says Amelle, who recently dumped gypsy boyfriend Freddie Fuller, regularly went AWOL.
"Every couple of months it will happen. At certain times there are people thinking they're bigger than the band.
"She'd blame it on Freddie, she'd blame it on her family on all sorts of things. But what's the excuse this time?
"Maybe she doesn't have the balls to say she wants to go." Keisha also hit back at claims that she's bullying Amelle out of the band: "I say what's on our mind. But that's not bullying.
"It's a huge accusation to make and I'm not going to let it lie. I was f***ing bullied myself at primary school.
"She's thinking about leaving but I'm not going to be used as the scapegoat. These things make me stronger. I'm going to use this and write a killer song and I'm going to be fine."

On the positive side the New Single is crap and the video was just awful who thought that up??

There IS no sugababes anymore. When siobhan left it was okay, because they were only just starting out, when Mutya left half the sound and originality left, now without Keisha what made the sugababes more than just a girl band has gone with it. There is now nothing to differenciate The Sugababes from the countless girlbands doing the rounds.
Of course the remaining girls are all very talented, but you could replace them with other girls without even noticing the difference, no one can replicate Keisha's unique sound vocally or musically.
RIP The Sugababes!
p.s. If it is true, that they were rerecording Keisha's vocals before she even knew about it - it's a pretty low down dirty and disgusing thing to do to anyone, eveyrone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

Amelle is so anoying i would moan if i was keisha i wish mutya would come bk she was cool. i will never listern to them again now there is no original members its not the sugarbabes is it.

I think the Sugababes won't be the same anymore, not one original member left.
Where are the Babes from the original Suga?
The group need to disband now and just go their seperate ways or rename the group they have now formed.
I rate Keisha for being opinionated and honest, which can't be said for a lot of the people in the industry today.
Keep your head up Keisha, you've got this far by keeping strong.

C'mon guys.
Amelle's not a trouble maker, she's a rebel. As far as I know, Keisha can be a bit bossy at times, but she can't help that, it's the way she is. Amelle may have just needed some space. I sure as hell hate people telling me what to do. And I'd imagine Amelle would as well.
A duo wouldn't have been a good idea in my mind. The Sugababes have always been three. Plus they need an edgy member, Mutya an Amelle have both been edgy members, they may turn a bit boring without one.

keisha is incredibly talented and has been there since the beginning she writes all the songs and unlike amelie who has always been in the papers for her brawls in clubs etc has carried herself in a well dignified and sensible manner she understands that she is a role model and is looked up to by little girls and boys and I rate her for that

The Sugarbabes were not Mutya's band. Keisha did not join Mutya's BAND. Keisha owns the name Sugababes. She writes the songs. Amelle appears to be a trouble maker. She was given a chance to join a major girl group and obviously now because she got a No1 single with a rapper she has grown in confidence and obviously wants to live Sugababes. Let her go Keisha and bring back Mutya. LEAVE KEISHA ALONE.

As far as I am concerned once Mutya left the Sugababes were no more! Don't get me wrong as they have done some good work since but the spark is just not there anymore!
