But surprise, surprise, it's all over because Boomtown Brat PIXIE GELDOF has dumped Mighty Boosh man NOEL FIELDING.
And it's not a pretty split. In fact, it's a very Bitter End.
Because furious Pixie, 18, gave Noel, 36, the boot when she found out he'd been flirting with fans while on tour in the US last week.
The pair had a big bust-up, but not happy to leave it at that the feisty Geldof girl then sent him the lyrics to one of her dad's old songs.
It's called The Bitter End and was originally released on Boomtown Rat Sir Bob's 1982 album V Deep. The lyrics include the line"To the bitter end, with our wills of iron, souls of coal."
A pal of Noel's told me: "Pixie isn't into the whole free love rock mentality and believes when a couple are together they should be exclusive.
"Noel is a free spirit and hard to control. He was just having a good time in the States and loving all the attention he got from the female fans.
"But Pixie heard about if from friends over there and wasn't happy.
"She needs someone who can be her anchor and keep her settled. She realised this week that just isn't him.
"They had a big row and she decided it had to end. It was a very difficult decision. They were meant to be going together to a friend's wedding this weekend. It's going to be very awkward."
It doesn't take a genius to see from Pixie's reaction how much this break-up has hurt her.
The pal added: "It's hit her very hard because she still loves Noel and can't see that changing."
Still, his behaviour shouldn't really have surprised her - they got together while he was still dating Dee Plume.
And, Pixie, you'll get over him a lot quicker if you stop listening to your dad's dreary records.

It's Noel fielding. She should have realised that months ago.
What we're witnessing here is a young girl who fell for an older Man - It's not really that much of an uncommon situation. I think She should just find someone her own age who can.. er.. "be her anchor" or whatever 'Noels pal' suggested.

Dear anon.
a) 'Maggie' was joking. Clearly humour is lost on you.
b) Julian is not married, he is just in a long term relationship.
Double FAIL. Congratulations on your being a moron.

Maggie - get real and grow up.
Julian is a very happily married family man.
The 'boys' act in Boosh isn't real, you know.
It's their comedy hook.
A genius you're NOT.

He was old enough to be her father FFS! Plus he cheated on his girlfriend to be with her anyway. What goes around comes around love, find someone your own age who is single.

I'm not at liberty to say how I know, but I've heard what bothered Pixie most was the closeness of Noel's relationship with his writing partner, Julian Barratt. They've not seen each other for a while, but obviously they spent plenty of time together while in the US. It doesn't take a genius to see that there's more to their partnership than meets the eye.

Well you certainly need to be a comedian to go out with that ghastly waste of space. See, by quoting her dad's abysmal lyrics, this shows she is contantly playing on the family name, whatever that stands for. To me "Geldof" means pompous, self-righteous, boring, filthy rich, ugly, style-free, leeches. So living up to that name takes a lot of effort. Don't the Australians want to take them off our hands, yet?
