The tattoo-mad singer has been staying on the Caribbean island to try to sort herself out once and for all.
And she's been telling pals she wants to live there for good.
My source said: "Amy loves St Lucia and never wants to leave. She thinks the island has done her the world of good and she's writing more than ever."
Amy's even trying to get herself on the books as a fully-fledged St Lucian and has lodged a residency application with island chiefs.
An official told me: "We are aware of Amy wanting to live here on a permanent basis. We have received an application and are looking into it."
But it's not just the reggae and rum cocktails that's got her hooked, because savvy Amy's also planning to register as a tax exile.
Brits have to spend less than 183 days in the UK to avoid forking out to the taxman - so Amy staying away could save her a small fortune as she's still set to make millions from sales of her Back to Black album.
A pal told me: "She's paid tens of thousands in tax already but she sees that she can avoid another huge bill. She'll be able to keep a larger slice of her fortune this way."
Amy, 25, first skedaddled to St Lucia last year and spent 71 days there as she tried to beat her drug demons.
She came home in March but was soon back on a plane to the sun-baked isle, returning there earlier this month. But true to form, she's already been staggering around making a show of herself.
This week even her parents dobbed her in by releasing a picture of her slumped as she tried to play the drums. It was done as a warning of the dangers of alcohol.
But it wouldn't surprise me if officials do let her in that the island's motto will become "Welcome to St Lucia: Now 80 per cent proof" in honour to their newest citizen.
Long way to go before that happens though. Her move to stay put might be at an early stage but it hasn't gone down too well with the locals.
Radio host Sam Flood said: "This woman has brought over all her nastiness to our shores and she is allowed to get away with it.
"Our youths need positive role models and people who can make a meaningful contribution to our society and Amy doesn't fit into this."
We've always known she's not a very good rock 'n' role model.
