Unmasked: The REAL Bruno

Bruno, left, and Alfons, right.

He's proud to be gay, fancies himself a fashion icon and once announced he wanted to be the "most famous Austrian since Hitler".

Meet permatanned Alfons Haider.. the man Austria reckons is the real-life Bruno.

This pic of Bruno Alfons set the Alps alight today hours after Sacha Baron Cohen camped it up for film's colourful premiere in Leicester Square.

And if those coincidences weren't enough, there's more:

Alf is the highest paid presenter for broadcaster ORF. Bruno, meanwhile, works for OJRF.

He caused a storm at an Austrian film award night by stuffing the gong down his trousers.

And he recently flounced out of a TV interview after tipping a pot of jelly babies over his interviewer's head.

But one man mystified is the fella at the centre of the controversy: "I never understood the comparison to myself at all," he said.

"The only comparisons I can think of is that I'm Austrian, I'm gay, and I work for television, but the rest is completely fiction.

"HANDS OFF MY KUGELSACK!"

(We made that last bit up.)
