A smiling Cheryl Cole jetted off to the South of France today - with hubby Ashley in one hand and a bag of designer swimsuits in the other.

Last time the X-Factor star went away - for Comic Relief's Kilimanjaro climb - she left her wayward fella at home... where he promptly got locked up for being drunk & disorderly.

So this time she took no chances and the pair arrived at Heathrow hand-in-hand, with Ash - fresh from last night's England demolition job at Wembley - in charge of the passports.

Cheryl was already looking summery in a hippy floral skirt, low-cut top and super-size sunnies. She also dangled a bag from swimwear designer-to-the-stars Melissa Odabash .

There were rumours the couple were on the rocks last January when defender Ashley was caught playing away with a hairdresser.

But they've since healed the rift and looked closer than ever as they set off for a well deserved break.

Good riddance! Why doesn't she go to France and stay there! Take her idiot husband with her while she's at it! I certainly don't care where she goes on holiday - as long as I don't have to see her stupid face and dodgey outfits.

Ha ha, maybe some time in the south of France close to chic, stylish French women might turn this chav in to a proper lady. I wouldn't bet on it though!
