NOW hat's what I call doing it in style! American star Mischa Barton looks tops flying the flag for British fashion.
The jobless It girl says her favourite celebrity style icons are Brits. Now that I like.
The former OC girl - about to launch a handbag range (who needs to act, eh?) - said: "I've got friends in London who I think are very fashionable. Girls like Pixie Geldof. And Noel Fielding looks so fantastic.
"They get away with it and they get to be themselves. It's far more interesting and iconic. In the States they don't like it when you look too different."

Um, Mischa's pilot The Beautiful Life was picked up by The CW this past week. It's about models living in New York. It will be on the fall 2009 schedule on Wednesdays following America's Next Top Model.
Mischa plays a model named Sonya.

It's more to do with the fact that she's releasing (and wearing) London style at 20 quid per item through big companies like asos. The point of it is that you can pick up second hand stuff, vintage stuff, on the cheap at places like Camden. That's what makes it individual, not the price tag, and that's where she's missed the point.

Meeshhead is right - She's British by birth, and still has British citizenship along with her US citizenship (which she didn't get until about 2006...). And if you read the interviews with her, she loves spending time in the UK. Also, she's not "jobless" at all - she's always busy doing something, like charity work, or shooting a movie or the pilot for her new show, which has just been picked up by a network for later in the year. OK, so some of her movies are still waiting for release, but that's because of financial problems, and not anything to do with her. And you're a bit late with the handbag range, as that's been out over a year now!!!

She may be an American star, but she was born in London, and lived there until she was 4.
