The unlucky-in-love pair have been seeing a lot more of each other in recent weeks as Jemima has proved the perfect shoulder to cry on for Guy since his split with MADONNA.
And it turns out that mockney film master Guy has also proven to be a welcome distraction from Jem's on-off relationship headache with floppy-haired fop HUGH GRANT.
Now their pals believe Guy and Jem would make the perfect couple after finally finding a kindred spirit in one another.
One close friend told me: "They're taking things slowly as Guy doesn't want to throw himself back into the dating world so soon after splitting with his wife.
Shook
"The whole incident really shook him up more than people think and Jemima has been there to comfort him - they've become very good friends because of it.
"But everyone can see there's clearly a connection between them and I don't think anyone would be surprised if they take things on to the next level."
Friends first noticed how close they had suddenly become when they flirted away at a west London Christmas party last year.
The 40-year-old was still reeling from his "quickie" divorce in November and was feeling the strain of finishing his latest film while fighting for custody of his children.
But it seems that Jemima, 35, managed to drag him out of himself at the do, which was also attended by STING's wife TRUDIE STYLER - the matchmaker who had first introduced Guy and Madonna in 1999. The friend added: "Guy was in really high spirits that night for a man going through a pretty big divorce, but then Jemima definitely had something to do with his mood. They were laughing and flirting away all evening and they didn't care who was watching them - it was good to see Guy back on form after all his trouble."
Jemima and Hugh ended their up-and-down relationship in 2007.
The pal said: "It took a lot for Jemima to get over Hugh but the introduction of Guy has been very interesting.
"There's always a twinkle in her eye whenever she talks about him."

i reckon they absolutelysuit each other to a tee. Considering that they are both divorced and they both have children from those past relationships. They have a lot in common and the support they have for each other is good for them. Even if Hugh is single,he has a lot emotional baggage from his past with Liz and she still holds on to him like a magnet, and won't let any other girl be within any reach of him, she's greedy and poor Jemima can't compete with that. She is better off without him despite how much i adore Hugh the understanding of her predicament is not real enough for a future attachment. I wish him luck.

Is this fate? Two lost lovely people finding each other, goodluck to them. It is sad to see divorced people suffering in their loneliness.
