Adele in crisis

THREE Brit noms, four Grammy nods - yet our most talented star says she's in a crisis.

And despite being covered in Hometown Glory, soul princess ADELE insists she's fleeing the UK for good to set up home in America.

She's also QUIT booze to get her life back in shape after a series of personal traumas.

All this and she's only 20.

"I've had an early life crisis," she informed me. "That's what we call an ELC.

"I was really unhappy at home and there was a lot of family stuff going on, which is why I had to cancel dates in the US in the summer. But I got better again - I stopped drinking."

Painful

The Chasing Pavements singer, known for her painful (but brilliant) lyrics about heartache, hit the London bars hard in '08.

So I'm glad she's on the water and sorting herself out - even if it does mean losing her across the Pond.

And the redhead's career is really kicking-off in the States, so I guess it makes sense to try a fresh start over there.

"I'm starting to become more independent," she told me. "I want to finish writing my next album by April but I can't write when I'm on the road - I get distracted.

"I want to live with the songs for four or five months then go in the studio and record them."

Adele - full name Adele Atkins - hinted at another reason behind her ELC, the lack of someone special in her life (join the queue, luv). She sighed: "When I'm in love it's all that matters, and when I'm out of love I just want to be back in love."

I think she's still getting over the last dropkick, who inspired her set of melancholy tunes.

"It was more than a teen fling. I would have literally died for that boy," Adele admitted.

"He cheated on me, so that was more reason to be p***ed. I tried to be productive instead of crumbling on to my knees and becoming pathetic."

You'll prove to be anything but when you pick up a bunch of Brit gongs next month, Adele.
