I'll show love rat a winner

DETERMINED mum Annastasia Baker has vowed to win X Factor . . . and defy the love rat who dumped her when she was expecting his child.

The 19-year-old waitress has been left to bring up her baby daughter on her own after discovering her two-timing lover Junior Baker had got another woman pregnant at the same time.

Semi-pro footballer Baker, 25, even concocted the vile lie that his gran was dying of cancer as an excuse for not seeing her when she was pregnant.

Now Annastasia, from Thamesmead, south-east London, has promised to hit the big time to make a better life for eight-month-old Nevaeh-which is heaven spelled backwards.

She says: "I want to prove to myself and my child that I'm strong enough to do this.

"I'm not going to sit around at home down in the dumps and moaning about how things have been tough.

"We've both been let down badly by him but that's down to him-not us. He clearly can't handle responsibility, but I can and I'm the one who has got to make a life for us both.

"We had been dating for a few months when I found out I was pregnant and when I told him, that was that.

"When I was pregnant he didn't see me for months. Then I found out that he had got another girl pregnant and she gave birth just three weeks before me. He's incredible.

"But he's the one who is missing out. He's sad and weak."

For since the tot was born in March, Baker-who has just been released by Ryman League side Thamesmead Town-has seen her just twice. And he hasn't contributed a penny towards her upbringing.

But Annastasia, described by Simon Cowell as a "good old-fashioned belter", isn't moping. After all, she has a heaven-sent reason for winning.
