Dan and Out
Dannii Minogue lost her title as only X Factor mentor to still have all their acts last night as Daniel Evans was voted off the show.
The 38-year-old widower sung for survival against another of Dannii's acts Rachel Hylton after receiving the least viewer's votes.
But his performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water which he devoted to his children wasn't to save him as judges chose to keep Rachel in the competition.
On hearing the news Daniel said: "I just want to thank my friends, family and fans.
"I've got a great family and had a great mentor and they've kept me going through the whole competition."
Dannii Minogue said she wouldn't have been able to choose between her two acts and would have sent the decision to deadlock if it came down to her.
Earlier in the night Simon Cowell described Daniel's performance of Tom Jones classic It's Not Unusual as "like a dancing dad at a wedding".

Hey world, I was watching X Factor on Saturday night and they showed Daniel going home to see his baby.
A baby? I didn't know Daniel had a baby - and a dead wife apparently. He's just striving for a better life, and I love that.
Why, those folks at X Factor should have mentioned this sooner.
Let's focus on this and not mention his performance, because every time I think about it I can't believe the rage that courses through my veins.

I can't listen to this girl sing without imagining her singing it just to me probably while we're lying on a picnic blanket in a field while she gently strokes my forehead.
I might have a little cry.

Shut up Dannii Minogue. This was brilliant prime-time telly.
I can't believe this never-has-been had the audacity to say the boys were only doing this medley because Louis loves the music, not them.
WHAT THE HELL WAS MAKING RACHEL HYLTON SING AN UNKNOWN POP TRACK BY ROBYN(?) IN THE FIRST WEEK?
But we digress.
The thing I like most about JLS is the reaction they get from Louis after they perform.
Bless him and his little scrunched up grinning face jumping up and down all happy.

I can't decide if there's something very uncomfortable or strangely fitting watching this former crack addict take on an Amy Winehouse track.
Who cares, she did a cracking job.
Eoghan: One More Try
What the bejesus are the judges thinking - this performance was RUBBISH.
And honest to all that's holy, if I have to stare at the TV for another week and see his doughy close-to-tear eyes staring back at me, I'm going to punch myself in the face. Repeatedly.
Diana: Yellow

Oh my giddy aunt sing properly girl and stop with the dramatics - it's a ruddy singing contest, you're not brokering a Middle-East peace deal.

As much as everyone likes to hate Rachel she has the best voice among the lot.She is perceived as cocky, but I see her as a fun girl,and her past is past.Naturally Alex is benefiting from her beauty as well as her singing talent, and her pleasant demeanour.Eoughan and Diana are really terrible, but they both look like barbie dolls and that obviously seem to be helping.

Loius and Simon are both hypocrites as they are supposed to send home the worst performer in the sing off not the one who they feel sorry for and thinks deserves a chance, just cos the girl was a crack addict doesn't mean she deserves more of a chance than daniel. Rachel should have been voted off in the first sing off but she was kept in because of the pathethic judges but whatever she only got through the next week on the sympathy vote and once again was in the bottom two this week and deservedly so as she was terrible. How simon could make the comments he made about the sing off and then keep rachel in proves that this in not a talent show but a publicit stunt. I hope that common sense prevails and rachel is finally kicked off the show next week.

I can not believe that Diana wasn't in the bottom two this week, let alone still in the competion..she has a terrible voice, she sounds like a 'cat' squealing at night!! i am fed up with her using the sympathy 'act' to get her through each week, the same as Rachel, the only reason why she was so happy to be in the bottom two was because she knew the 'so called' judges would vote off Daniel as they are just as pathetic as she is! Alexandra is by far the best singer in this competision but it seems that it is time for a group to win.

The X Factor is certainly bordering on hysterical desperate this year.
Leon Jackson the 2007 winner has failed to aspire to the mantle that he took over from Leona Lewis.
In my opinion their is NO single finalist that has the "X" Factor this year.This is the main problem & all the judges are painfully aware of it.

I believe the best people have already gone out of the competition. Daniel did well to get this far, and I hope he gets something from this.
For who is going to win now I have to say a choice between Alex, JLS, and Eoghan.
Diana's voice just annoys me and I cant see her going very far.

I actually thought that Daniel was a bit better last night but Diana ? Truly awful , sorry but she shouldnt be there, her voice is forced and un natural ,she ruined a good song , cant believe she is still there . Alex, superb as usual , Rachel a lot better ,JLS were a bit disappointing last night but still entertaining , Ruth singing Angels ? Not for me sorry ! The little boy with the unspellable name , he`s not good enough although I suppose he`ll appeal to the Mums and Grannys ! Having said that , I`m a granny and he doesnt appeal to me, syrupy and sickly .

PLEASE will someone tell the judges that Diana can't sing for sixpence! The whiny little wretch makes me want to put my foot thought the screen. Good to see Daniel go at long last.
What do people see in Rachel? The girl can't sing! OK, she's got a good tone in her voice, but it's just non-stop bloody yelling.
Alexander is heads & tails above any of the other contestants in the talent stakes , but unfortunately, the British public will once again choose a pretty face and wimpy story, which is why Eoghan will win.

Wrong choice again 2nite - Racheal was by far the worst of the bottom 2, even simon admitted it! BUT yet he still saved her, its totally rigged!!! Another viewer lost here mr cowell!! I i would like to say i think daniel deserves massive credit for the way he took it, he has proved to be the biggest gentleman and handled everything with so much dignity!! AND THATS WHY PEOPLE VOTED FOR HIM!!! Daniel good luck for future, you are the winner or xfactor this year for me!

It was obvious that Daniel was going this week as soon as he was in the bottom two as the judges were not going to take the chance that the public would keep him in longer when there are better singers in the competition. Once again Alex gave the performance of the night and looks set to win it, I agree Ruth should do more rock numbers her rendition of Purple Rain and Knocking on Heavens Door were brilliant.

Daniel is out at last after one last try at the sympathy card but by this time everyone was bored, we all knew it was coming and I think at that moment he realised as much. So he dedicated it to his daughter and family, his mentor is as talentless as him, how she could have put a good singer out at bootcamp in favour of him is beyond me, i.e. the young girl and the woman who was in his age range were by far better singers. Danni I reckon thought the sympathy card would have won her the Xfactor winner again this year. Hopefully his mentor will be out as a judge next year, I feel sorry for Rachel who I'd say is the best singer on that show.

I do hope that yodeling blomd gets the boot next, If I wanted to listen to yodeling on the radio, i would have moved to Austria or Switzerland.
Alex is Brill. Puts loads of effort into every performance.
JLS little weak last night, but very entertaining.
Ruth should stick to the Rock stuff, it suits he vocal range.
Eoghan, What a nice lad. Seems to pull it out of the bag every saturday.
Rachel. Very good singer, but has too much bad press because of her history and family.

DANIELS OUT : he done well to get this far considering he didnt have the best singing voice compared to some of the others

Hey i got a sore throat at the mo and i could'nt sing before so no excuses do I get a bye from bills etc! I can now Win X Factor! Louis is bordering on harassment and being a bully! Hope you are proud of yourself. Used ro like you. Daniel is what the public want to listen to in these troubled times. At least we can understand what he is singing! Obviously "Roy" didn't watch auditions cos then he would have know Daniels history!! Getting to ageist and too scared to vote incase you I am politically wrong ad my "votes wont count no more".
