Lloyd Daniels survived against the odds despite an out of tune performance the previous night.
An angry studio audience booed and jeered at news that he had survived the sing-off - which resulted in Essex boy Olly landing in the bottom two.
But with Lloyd safe they turned on the twins shouting catcalls as their mentor Louis Walsh tried to announce the pair.
The boys failed to rally and gave an appalling performance of Boyzone's Know Matter What.
They were followed by Olly whose version of Clapton's Wonderful Tonight was not much better.
Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole voted to save Olly while Louis Walsh voted to save his own act.
But it all ended badly for the Irish teenagers as Dannii Minogie asked: "Is this a singing competition?" before voting to save Olly.

Finally the twins are gone and now X-Factor can begin. I got nothing against the lads but they should be on Britians got talent and not a singing competition. My favourite was Jamie but thanks to Louis Walsh (grrrrr) he`s out so now my money is on Joe and Stacey for the finals. This week Daniel and Loyd will be in the bottom two I`m sure...

i think that Johnn and Edward were the best thing that happened to x factor before Lloyed (sorry Lloyd) but it is true they were the best and they didnt deserve to go

The was very entertaing but at the end of the day it's a singing contest not an entertainment one, they cant sing, that can only entertain which is pretty sad, but how could anyone like them, they just bounce around the stage like banji's, soo glad they went and now i can enjoy watching the x factor ona saturday night (: .yipy.

What beautiful, respectable boys and what an undignfied audience, they really did not have any manners booing like that. The boy's will do better than any x factor winner. The best of luck to John and Edward.

sorry to see john and edward go. they may not have had great singing voices but they were entertaining. dannie was spot on when she asked if it was a singing contest or entertainment show. i hope the lads do well for themselves is it not better to them to try and make somethink of their lives iinstead of signing on for jobseekers allowance good luck in all you try to acheive and prove simon &co. wrong. good luck you are two lovely boys. By the way i am not some silly girl i am a 62yrs old granny

John and Edward have been the most entertaining act in this year's X Factor and without them the show will not be worth watching.
The quality of the singers this year is very poor and I would not cross the road to see any of them perform. For weeks people have been blaming John and Edward for "decent singers" being booted out of the show. Who are they going to blame now?
By Dave.. Posted November 24 2009 at 1:54 AM.
People seem to forget, its all about entertainment, X-factor is about providing that entertainment, how many people get up and sing at a karaoke, sing out of tune, or get the words mixed up, we enjoy watching them, but at least they try, even if they are not the worlds best, they still give it a go, good luck to these lads, i hope that they acheive their goals, whatever they are.

JOHN AND EDWARD --
BECAUSE THEY'RE WORTH IT

JOHN AND EDWARD WERE THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO BRITISH TELEVISION. THE X FACTOR IS DEAD IN THE FLOOD WATER WITHOUT THEM. THEY WERE BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT
By catherine.. Posted November 23 2009 at 1:45 PM.
I would like to thank the british voting public for finally getting rid of the twins, it was well long overdue. I haven't watched the X factor for the last couple of weeks as everytime i see the twins on my t.v all i wanted to do is throw me t.v out of the window.

I admire my fellow posters for describing these cheeky boys as goats ha ha. So far none of the singers impress me. I voted for Danyl. He's the most tuneful goat LOL but I cant see myself parting with my hard earned money on a cheapshot (probably cover version) Xmas release. We require real music not ever more billy goats gruff.

Jedward wer e entertainment but they did deserve to go........
By Yasmin.. Posted November 23 2009 at 7:45 AM.
REMEMBER SIMON COWELL IS THE ONE WHO CAUSED THIS SITUATION BY NOT GETTING RID OF THESE TWO CLOWNS WHEN HE HAD THE CHANCE. HE WASN`T SO QUICK TO VOTE FOR THEM TONIGHT THOUGH WAS HE....? BLOODY HYPOCRITICAL PEE TAKER ! LOUIS WALSH SHOULD BE DUMPED FOR GOOD BY THE MUSIC INDUSTRY NOW FOR HIS PART IN THIS FIASCO. THIS SHOW IS NOW DOOMED THANKS TO COWELL AND WALSH - WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.
By LANA.. Posted November 23 2009 at 3:34 AM.
Thank heavens those two clowns are out. Simon should open a kids own version of Xfactor otherwise this one was becoming a joke.
Now lets see some real talents & i hope that young lad Lloyd is out next week.
By Geoffrey.. Posted November 22 2009 at 11:42 PM.
I'm glad that those two are out of X-Factor.I stopped watching this programme about 3 weeks ago...because of those two goats.
By Larik.. Posted November 22 2009 at 11:22 PM.
I hope Danyl is next to go out, can't stand the guy singing.
By gran.. Posted November 22 2009 at 11:22 PM.
i am so pleased the twins have finally gone home. however, i did think it was unfair of people to boo them as it's been the public that have kept them in afterall!!! fair play to them for thei bravery coming on stage evey week to heckles but it is a singing contest and alas they could not hold a note!! also makes you wonder how on earth louis has managed such famous bands!!
By carrie.. Posted November 22 2009 at 11:22 PM.
you were great boys good luck
By fish.. Posted November 22 2009 at 10:55 PM.
although i wil miss those two. but they can not sing. joe to win from here in. last nite he nailed that song.
By kate.. Posted November 22 2009 at 11:18 PM.
They had to go, though I'm sure the twins will do well and pop up again soon on our screens. Their singing was dire but, hey, they were novel and very fit.
Joe McEldery is the obvious boy to win, with his exceptional voice, but the lady might just nick it!
By Paul H. .. Posted November 22 2009 at 11:16 PM.
I am so sad with John and Edward. They did not deserve to boo but some idiots had to do this...
I will be miss you guys!
