X FACTOR reject Rachel Adedeji says Simon Cowell was RIGHT to let the public decide her fate last night - because she would have ended up in the sing-off again if she'd stayed.

The 18-year old became the fourth contestant to leave the show last night, but said she bore no grudge against the music mogul - even though he didn't save her from the axe.

Judge Simon, 50, admitted the soulful student had performed better than her rival Lloyd Daniels, who could barely sing due to a bad throat.

But he still took the decision to force a deadlock - and it was Rachel who was least popular with viewers.

She said: "I think it was fair. He did say that the public weren't really getting me, so let's just leave it to the public vote.

"He could have put me through and then I could have just been in the bottom two again, which really does affect me.

Voting

"I am trying so hard and it just makes me think 'why are people not voting?'"

Battler Rachel had been in the sing-off twice before - and it was third time unlucky as she finally lost out to Welsh pin-up Lloyd.

Her belting rendition of U2's One left viewers unimpressed - but the London-based teen doesn't think it was her voice that let her down.

She said: "I didn't really get as much coverage [as the other contestants] and that probably had a lot to do with me not getting through.

"People didn't really know who I was. People didn't know anything about me."

And she also claimed the opinion of guest mentor Whitney Houston - who singled her out for praise - mattered more than the public's anyway.

She said: "People look up to Whitney. It doesn't really matter what the public think.

"If the public don't get me then cool. Whitney does!"

And despite not making it further Rachel - who is backing best friend Joe McElderry to win - vowed to carry on pursuing her dream.

She added: "I'm not going to stop. X Factor didn't give me my voice. I sang beforehand so I'm just going to keep singing."

I think X Factor and its mentors didn't get her. She has quite a masculine voice and sounded awesome singing Last Request by Paolo Nuttini - she should definitely make more of her masculine edge, it would make for a really unique artist.

I mean masculine in the nicest possibile way. Strong. She's quite beautiful too.

WOW!!! An actual contestant that doesn't believe their owed anything by the judges and by X Factor.

I must say I don't watch X Factor but like reading about it, so can't judge her performance - but if she's a classy as her comments then she should do well in life.

Well done Rachel for being grateful for the time you've been given and leaving with dignity - if only so many others were the same.

Good luck in furthering your singing career xoxo
