Cheryl's £500k hair-style lock-in
CHERYL Cole's fashion advisors fear she is LOSING this season's glamour battle with rival judge Dannii Minogue - because she is BANNED by L'Oreal from changing her hair.
Girls Aloud star Cheryl, 26, has to keep her tresses the same as on her ads for the hair company under the terms of a £500,000 sponsorship deal.
Meanwhile glamorous Dannii, 38, has been sporting various funky styles including an Elvis QUIFF, Cleopatra FRINGE, pixie CROP and Bardot BOB.
Even Simon Cowell's closest confidante Sinitta, 41, said: "Dannii's hair and fashion choices are just fantastic so Cheryl is not the golden girl any more.
"Dannii's definitely been winning the battle of the babes with Cheryl."
Cheryl's stylists have been struggling to keep her look fresh - and the star, 26, has been limited to an over-the-shoulder plait, a pinned-up do or her usual long tresses.
Millions of viewers have seen Cheryl shaking her mane during ad breaks on X Factor, then asking: "Have you lost your hair mojo?"
But according to show insiders the answer from Cheryl herself may well be YES.
Last night an X Factor source told the News of the World: "One of the best ways a celeb can keep the public's eyes on them is to do something bold and daring - just ask Victoria Beckham.
"Cheryl's big hair is a great look. But it's only one look. At the very least, the stylists would like to give it a change of colour.
"There's a feeling that Cheryl has not done enough to keep fans interested. She's had long extensions since she started as a judge last year."
Earlier this year she dyed her hair to an eye-catching dark red.
But she changed back to brunette with caramel highlights just a few days before it was announced she was the new L'Oreal Paris girl.
Our insider said: "No one's saying she's anything other than gorgeous as she is but the public are fickle and like to see different styles.
"She would have probably risen to the occasion and changed her style for X Factor had L'Oreal not made an offer she couldn't refuse, and that depended on her maintaining long hair with a consistent colour."
Not that Cheryl - who spends £40,000 a year maintaining her hair - is feeling the pressure to change.
She once said: "You feel glamorous when it's long, and the bigger the better for me.
"I'm quite obsessed with that!"

Sadly neither Cheryl or Danni can really sing. Tragic that the publicity mill drove Alexandra from the number 1 spot because that's real talent even Cheryl admits that. XFactor is no longer a singing talent competition if it was John and Edward would have been out in the first week. As good singers go home leaving tone deaf JEdward still in the competition the entire show becomes a mockery. Would the public ever buy a JEdward album? I very much doubt it! Listen to them with your eyes closed and then listen to the original version of their songs.

Danni has always been up front about what she's had done and from memory I've never heard her criticise others publicly...they are different inside and out and that makes one genuine one not, and Danni is the genuine one, the other can't even try to be real

Cheryl is more of a natural beauty and you can so tell Danni has used botox. Danni is a failed singer and has always been Kylie's sister. Cheryl's new song is catchy and is always on the radio as I drive to work so we hum it in the office. I would give more notice to Cheryl's opinion than Danni (1980's reject) anyday...cheryl is modern and up to date.
This is a talent contest but also the girls do look good but I liked Cheryl in her glittery trousers tonight...she can pull of any style and makes it look effortless...Danni looks like she is trying too hard all the time...and trying to be 18 with her sayings is just scary...bit like my mum trying to "be down wit the kidz"

£40, 000 - are you mad?! My income is 11K a year . Perhaps people will stop moaning so much about footballers when she spends that on her hair, its crazy!
She's a very pretty girl, far prettier than Dannii but has to stop having things "done" to her as she'll look like an old hag at 35. Should have kept things a bit more natural - my looks etc didn't go till I got to 50!
Perhaps also she should have checked the contract prperly, it must have said she couldn't alter her hair. Good ness knows though why these makeup companies etc can't do a commercial without extensions/ false eyelashes etc, it hardly represents real peopl does it?

Danni is stunning, yes in the past she has had botox but obvious she's not using it now, her boobs were done yes - but tastefully and not in a pamela anderson sort of in your face way...
Cheryl... what is all the hype about cheryl...she's pretty but not in a magnificent sort of way.
Danni is gorgeous and i liked her even more after watching her on piers morgan last night. Danny looks sophisticated and beautiful, and this year is her year to shine.. Cheryl wanted to experiment with daring styles to compete against danni on the live shows, but it's obvious who is winning the style stakes here. I thought cheryls dress was awful, yeah she has nice hair but its not her own!! Aswel as everything else she gets done, she spends way more than £40,000 on her appearance!! Ive never really like Cheryl that much cos she was always bitching about sum1.... Beating up toilet attendants.. how can she be this golden girl?? She was a nice looking girl before, I think she looked better before she started being totally overstyled. Talk about excess, we are in the middle of a recession and Cheryl Cole spends 40 thousand pounds a year on her hair and some people can barely get by.
I think it's time people woke up and realised that this is a singer and not a national icon.
I think in 2002 she was a very pretty natural looking girl, not now.

I adore Cheryl but I think her style was much better last year. Ive not been a fan especially of her recent choices. Her hair is amazing (fake I no) so why would he want to change it anyway. You can do so much with long hair, I cannot understand why a professional hairstyle is struggling to be creative with long hair. Danni I think has improved alot this year.

The dress was def not a good choice. You can do loads of different styles with long hair, you just need to be creative.

oh come on how the heck cheryl real? she's got £5000 plastic fibred hair extensions plugged into her hair, shes got fake tan, foundation, blush, bronzor, eye shadow, eye liner, false lashes, lipstick....you compared her hair BEFORE she was famous and AFTER she was famous, she doesnt have natrual volume and has very pale skin. cheryl cole is the epitome of fakeness, I would applaud her for that. I think she is a joke

Cheryls hair is lovely, google cheryl and hair appears in the search. Girls are trying to get the same colour, style, and noticed the colour is not as flattering. She suits her golden brown hair with the highlights. We are laughing at home, how daft Dannii's hair looks, she looks her best with her bob sleek. She's trying to be different with the quiff, and other various up hairstyles. They just ruin her beautiful bob. Both girls look great, and Cheryl should stay the same, I wouldn't cut a hair on her head!
