STUDENT Joseph McElderry had his classmates in tears when he revealed his amazing voice.

The 18-year-old Geordie performing arts student had to sing in a college show - and left pals gobsmacked by his secret talent.

Pal Celeste Hay said: "I knew he was a great actor but didn't know he was a brilliant singer too. Everybody saw his real talent. A lot of us were moved to tears."

Joe only discovered he could sing four years ago when he started doing karaoke.

He will try to impress Cheryl Cole to get to the live shows. Celeste added: "We're all rooting for him. He's lovely."

joe to win, he is brilliant a nice down to earth lad that seems to hold family values as he no 1 priority. He is a joy to watch and i wish many more young lads out there were like him today.and he has a fab voice too

I have played his X factor performance videos over and over again as it's such a pleasure to listen to his wonderful voice - and I am not a teenager but an OAP!!

He's far superior to Danyl who shouts rather than sings

I think Joe hast the best voice of everyone - I want him to win because he is the only for me that is consistent with that beautiful voice. Noone else sings as beautiful as he does, its a fact. Joe sings awesome. Hope he wins, he is so beautiful.

I think he sang 'dance with my father' brilliantly, he has not got a sob story and is down to earth...I like him, along with Lucie. Good luck. xx
