Foxed by mummy
OPERA singer Daniel Fox tried to join a wild party at The X Factor Boot Camp - but his parents turned up and took him home.
Most of the 200 wannabes spent the final night at their hotel partying until the small hours. But Daniel's folks plied him with mum's cooking and TLC.
The singer, 19, dubbed the new Rhydian Roberts after his first full performance was aired last night, said: "My parents surprised me and turned up for the last Boot Camp show in London.
"So I had to leave early with them and couldn't get proper drunk with the others like I wanted to. They had a huge party.
"I only went to the bar at all on the last night. Some were there every night. But I always went to bed early - I didn't want to ruin my dream."
Daniel, of Heywood, Lancs, dropped out of Paul McCartney's prestigious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts despite being one of just 40 accepted out of 40,000. And single Daniel, whose voice broke at 10 as he played Dopey in Snow White, says: "I've never fallen in love. It would put my career on the backburner."

I remember Daniels family from when I was a young girl at school, his brother was the same age as mine. His parents are amazing and did the right thing by him, there a 2 sides to every story who are you lot to be judge and jury, this guy did so well out of millions to get as far as he did. Doubt he'll get into the final 12 and he really shouldn't. He can sing, but it's not a nice sound. His facial expressions are not pleasant to watch and he forces a vibrato by shaking his head. Far more out there with what is truly the x factor!

Reasonable voice, yes, but to compare him with the absolutely wonderful voice and stage presence of Rhydian is ridiculous. He will never be as good as Rhydian - not in a thousand years!!

Wished they had shown more of Daniel Fox, I don't think we got to see enough of him through the auditions or the other boy band D-Tour, has the Northwest been overlooked???
As for Marianna's negative comments regarding Daniels parents! I read the newspaper article in a positive light that his parents cared enough to be there and support him no matter what the outcome, can you imagine if Daniel had not got through and had to make that journey back home on his own? I would have done the same for my children and they are older than Daniel. Ok he missed a party whats the big deal I'm sure he has and will attend many others!

A friend of mine was at the manchester auditions and told me about him, how good he was and how much the audience loved him.
I thought daniel was amazing, for someone as young as him to have a voice like that. I would have liked to have seen more of him though and hope he gets far.

I cant criticise him for going with his parents, he was probably desperate to enjoy himself but by the sounds of it he is under the domineering mother influence, I’ve been there and believe me Daniel will one day tell his mother where to go (politely) and then the fun will begin. What sort of parents do that to a 19yrld guy, they must know he will want to have fun with people in his age range with the same interests at heart and only a young man who is tightly under their thumb would allow their parents to take over like that, I think it’s selfish what they did, how do they expect him to get anywhere if he doesn’t socialise with people?

Don't think he'll get very far. Maybe it's just ITV but they're hardly showing him, except for little clips. Usually if they want someone to do well they have them on the TV all the time (Lucie, Danyl, Jamie). Daniel sounded Ok but wasn't great.
