I am retired dude living in Mexico,and I am so so impressed by Danyl ,what a wonderful voice,such talent,I think the judge was way out of line with her comments and the way they have broken his confidence is awlful.

who cares about his sexual orientation? i don't see what all the fuss is about. i have fancied the pants off Danyl since his first audition and just because he's admitted to swinging the other way every now and again doesn't make him any less appealing to me. even after tonights extremely dissappointing performance, he's still by far one of, if not the most talented performer (emphasisme on the word performer) the x factor has ever seen. I love Danyl, I think he is an amazing talent. Loved him since I saw his audition and I dont think he is arrogant or big headed, just confident. Is it just cause he don't giggle like an airhead or speak all sweet that people can't relate to him. I am behind Danyl 100% and even if you dont like him you have to agree he didnt deserve to be in the bottom two on Sunday (neither did Miss Frank). Danyl to win.

I really liked danyls first audition it was fantastic!! He is an amazing singer but he needs to tone it down a bit hes trying 2 hard and he does come accross as a bit cocky. If he loses the cockiness and shows himself with a "real" side he will become more likeable 2 the public which i beleiev he did on saturdays show when you could see how much he just wanted 2 cry after dannis comment. He needs 2 show more of his vunerable side.

I completely disliked dannis comment as it had nothing to do with what she is there 4 - 2 judge a performance - but i think she did danyl a favour by making him show he has a vunerable side as well as a cocky one this will earn him public approval and increase his appeal.

One thing i would like to say tho is how would danni like it if someone on the show wanted to read the papers and discuss her personal life? I dont think she would have appreciated that. She did not take danyls feelings into consideration at all and when she apologised on sunday i think she made it worse. To make out that it was a joke and that she and danyl were laughing about it before the show means nothing because its one thing to talk privately about a newspaper article that involes you and another thing completely to discuss it on live tv. She really should have known better. And to say that danyl was not upset by it well she must have been looking at a different danyl than the public were he was clearly annoyed, he was so upset looking i thought he was going to cry and i wouldnt have blamed if he did.

It is also one thing to be open about your sexuality but another to have someone poke fun of you because of it.

why are people saying that If he is bi and proud why change the lyrics? - if he's bi that means he likes girls aswell, so has just as much right to sing the song about a girl.

To be honest I can't stand Danyl, I think he's arrogant, self obsessed and if he was chocolate he'd eat himself. The judges see the Danyl behind the scenes which the great British public don't, the way he looks down on the other contestants and the way he assumes he'll automaticaly win the competetion. Personally I don't think he's all that, his pompous big head will let him down sooner or later. Except for Simon the other judges really dislike him, ask yourselves why.

Oh yes Danni knew exactly what she was doing ploughing the ground to get Danyl dispised hopefully by the press enough. Manipulation is the word its like her comments about the twins oh yes the girls in the house think you a nice but not when you steal their food. Umm whats that got to do with there performance? I am not that keen on the twins anyway but I do think the judges are being stupid by bringing upthings that have nothing to do with the artists p;erformance. I believe the judges excluding Simon are trying to play reverse psychology so that Danyl downplays his performance and that way their own team wins. Danyl is by far the best singer there and is not cocky or overconfident. He is just someone who belives in himself and his ability.

the judges said he was overconfident and cocky. to other ppl they say they need to believe in themselves. Someone does- and they try to knock him down! All the best performers know they are fabulous. The judges are control freaks who want someone to fit their mould so they can build them up and say “the best thing about u is you don’t know how good you are”. BUT DANYL KNOWS HES GOOD AND SO HE SHOULD! and as for the sexulaity thing- its noones business. you would think someone famous would be more respectful of privacy and it was humiliating to do it in that way but i think she was trying to be funny and clever not nasty. danyal - who cares which side of the plate he eats from as long as he eats. so he sold his story to the papers that was going to come out sooner or later better sooner and by his own volition look what happened with will young he went through hell when he was outed by the press.
yeah danni made a faux pas with the comment but so what it wasnt as if it was meant badly she has been a gay icon herself for a long time and made a career on it so shes used to being in the limelight in that way so its a no brainer she just didnt think.
simon cowell did a brave thing with danyal outing himself giving him a diva song to sing. he pulled it off so good on simon, good on danyal and danni please dont open your mouth just to change feet you have done a wonderful job on the show so far

Danyls performance was the best out of all of them he is amazing and Instead of giving him the praise he deserved he got put down for things that are ridiculous .
I think he wasn't being cocky at all I didn't get that impression he seemed as nervous as the others but when he sang he handled it better and I think he is one of he best singers this show has seen.
Simon was right with what he said an the fact they nearly brought him to tears should have shown the judges that what they were saying was unfair.
Who cares if he is straight , bi or gay he is an amazing singer and I think that behind the comments three of he judges made they are worried and jelous of how good he is he had the best first audition ever and the best 1st live performance.

Just like Will Young I loved him from the first moment he sang and get the same feeling about this guy. Bought Will's cd's and would do the same for Danyl. Danni is a second rate performer and it should be her sister being a judge not her. She couldnt judge a dog show! but she would be more at home there!

I think its time for a reality check people.This is a singing/talent competition!!
Its totally irrelevant whether he is straight/gay/bi-sexual, or weather he changed the words or not blah blah blah.
Lets put it in to perspective, the guy is an amazing talent,and he put his heart and soul into that performance, and that is what he should be judged on.
I think Danni should have thought the comment through beofre she said it, and im sure it sounded so much better in her head, I dont think she meant it to be nasty,but the truth is she really put him on the spot and if i was him i would have wanted the stage to open up and swallow me. Thats really unfair and i really felt for him at that moment. Performing under that much pressure is hard, and he handled it like a pro.
And for the record I think he was right when he said candy rain have no chance of winning this competition.

I was a bit shocked with Dannii last night, I know she probably wasn't aiming to cause anything, but with the way it was said, it totally made me think it was out of order. Sure, he had his stories in the paper, but it didn't mean they had to be brought up on the show, surely? Kandi Rain did look like ex-strippers last night, though! I hope Dannii says sorry for what she brought up, she shouldn't be sacked for it. Danyl to win, best talent in the show! Danyl's sexuality and whether or not he sold his story to the paper is totally irrelevant and Dannii was totally out of order to bring it up - especially on a family show. Whether it was malicious to try and knock his confidence or harmless, it was wrong to put him in that situation in the same way it was wrong for Dannii and Cheryl to mention the personal lives of Kandi Rain. The show is about talent, the singing and the performance, and previous jobs or sexuality have absolutely nothing to do with it. What was the harm in Danyl changing the lyrics? George Michael, Will Young and Elton John have all done it and they are all publicly gay, not bi as Danyl apparently is. I've personally complained to Ofcom under two counts - (a) a person being made to publicly feel victimised, and (b) bringing up such items on a family show - I suspect there will be many children asking a lot of questions off the back of Dannii's comments, probably many of which are taught by the very talented Danyl.
I think the judges need to think before they shoot their mouths off...and that goes for all of them.

I hadn't read that he'd already discussed his sexuality in the papers, prior to Ms Minogue's comments on last nights X Factor. I was quite disappointed with her, as I didn't understand the point. It seemed bitchy and unnecessary. However, now I have read the story in The News of The World, and think he has actually been very open about his sexuality, I think her comment was probably a very bad and inappropriate joke, and not actually intended to offend. I think she was merely commenting on the irony of him changing the words in light of his recent 'story'. I am not defending her at all. I think it was most unwise and knocked the wind out of his sails, but I genuinely don't think any harm was intended. As for Danyl, it's a talent show, and he clearly is talented. This will be tomorrow chip paper, and he will still be on the show This has just brought him more attention and probably extra votes. Danni is in for a hard time now, not him!

I agree - being bisexual is NOT a crime!! Anyway what the heck does it have to do with the competition, it's his singing/performing talent which matters. This guy is DAMN GOOD, he's not cocky - haven't these female judges been watching him? He has loads of energy and is just too good for them, so they have to try and knock his confidence in front of a live audience. All of the judges were doing it tonight to contestants in other people's groups - it makes very uncomfortable viewing - but I expect they'll continue now they are in competitive mode. No one knows yet who will win which is why Danyl is working hard. He's definately my favourite and I will be soooooooooooooo upset if he doesn't win, but I do like some of the others almost as much.

Never read or heard about the news re:Danyl. Danni's comment got me reading, and to be honest I dont give a monkey about his personal life. I am sure there might be things in Danni's life which she would not like anyone knowing or in the public. Danni, how would you feel if you were in Danyl shoes & someone opened up things about you like that in public...

What goes around comes around, that is a fact... I think Danni should do a public appology. What she did is not only bad for the Programme it will also give a bad impression for the country. At the moment alot of other countries idolise the Programme X Factor, but what Danni did can have a big impact.

Why should Dannii be 'downright ashamed?' She said nothing homophobic, nothing wrong. She didn't say that Danyl shouldn't win because he's bi, which makes all these comments about 'Will Young's bi' completely irrelevant. If anything, her comment was pro-Gay. She was saying, if what the papers say are true, and you have openly said that you're bi, don't feel the need to change song lyrics to make out you're straight - be true to yourself. This is the woman who's clocked up more performances at G-A-Y than I can remember and who is a regular at Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Actually, I don't think Danni was being devious. The gender reference change did 'stand' out if you know the song. She's done him a favour by getting everything 'in the open. He totally nailed the tracked, giving it a masculine weight (very controlled movements). Well done. So, can a flirty bisexual singer win the X-Factor? We'll see... He won't win or lose based on sexuality but on whether he 'over-thinks' (and the little guy from Newcastle is the one to beat).

The guys sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with his ability to entertain on stage. Who cares whether he is gay, straight or bisexual?

Will Young is gay, he won and look where he is now. Oh and don't forget George Michael, Elton John, Freddie Mercury and thousands more. Their sexuality never hindered their ability to sell millions of records!

She should be dismissed from the panel, she's not exactly talented and isn't quite the eye candy she used to be, get shot of her and put someone in who actually understands talent.

Danni was well out of order tonight everyone is shocked by her statement, I for one did not know anything about Danyl's personal choices inlife but had to look it up to understand why she said what she said, he is an amazing artist and I would buy his music anyday he's trendy, appealing, sexy and the boy can sing!!! most importantly!!! is it a show about the singers personal life or is it a talent show!! Well done Danyl don't take Danni's words to heart she lost my vote tonight lets hope she does the right thing and make a public apology!!

I can't believe dani M on X factor, it is none of her buisness whether he is straight or gay and she was bang out to do this on live tv. Good on simon for telling her to stop it. I have not read the newspapers but after Danii's comments tonight it made me look up what her remarks related to. Like many I am disgusted that she sunk so low to mention this on TV, it does not matter what Danyl's preference is, he can sing and that is all that matters..........Danii well what exactly is she famous for except having a talented sister

Dannii should make a public apology to Danyl Johnson....what she said was totally unnecessary and BIG time out of order. Dannii's sister, Kylie, has a huge gay following and as a judge, she should know better! What ever you think of the guy, his singing, his attitude etc, his sexuality has nothing to do with it! Better to be honest and up front than have one of his "friends" make a scandal of it! I have lost any respect I had for Ms Minogue, who is only on the show because of her name....not her talent!

This isnt the personal lives factor, its a singing contest. It shouldnt matter if hes gay or straight, its his singing thats important in the long run.
He has one of the best voices in the competition and as for the crap about him being 'over confident' oh c'mon! john and edward are what i call over confident.

Why should it matter whether he is bi, gay or heterosexual? I thought this competition was about having the singing talent and also having the X-Factor. He sings incredibly well! As for the X-factor criteria, this definition may vary from one person to another but i am positive that whichever definition we go according to, Danyl Johnson is a winner. He definitely has the X-Factor. We should not forget that this competition is also about the judges' win as well, hence we do not have to do a lot of maths to figure out why Danii would forget her classy and refined celebrity nature and stoop so low to humiliate publicly someone who has done her no harm whatsoever. She did not just pass a comment, she sarcastically attacked him on a personal basis. Fair enough, Danyl did not have to divulge openly that he was dating men too. But if he had not done so now and then the media found out later on, it would have been hell for him still. When are we really happy with what others do. Either way, someone will be out there to judge him. Better now than later I say! He is true to himself and true to the public! What more do we want? Hope that Danyl will hang in there and realise that if he does win, his life will become an open book, so he might as well have a good practice starting from now itself. Good luck to him, he has the looks, charms and he sings fantastically well plus he has got major X-Factor.

I normally like Dani Minogue judgement but this time i think she is out of proportion..How could she comment about Danyl sexsuality? What's it got to do with her? Girl you blew it....I am sure you will be despise by people who likes this gentleman, a man who is trying his best and worked hard to get people attention. But as a hetersexaul married man I juge people by what they can do and not what their sexual perferences are. Danni should be thrown off X Factor as this is discriminating! I was amazed that Dannii would serve such a low blow on the XF ! Me and my hubby were sat watching and couldn't understand what she was talking about ?! I knew nothing of this story until Danni made a god awful comment tonight on the 1st live show! I don't see what his sexuality has anything to do with his singing talent. I think Danni should be ruined for making a comment like that! It was absolutely disgusting that she said that. I think he has said this now off his own back so that it's known now rather than suddenly being in the news later an good on him. Danyl I think you're fantastic and you give me goosebumps every time and Danni should be ashamed of herself!

SUCH a publicity stunt !!!! - there was no point going around telling people that he's dated both girls and boys, it shouldn't matter. it shouldn't matter that he's bisexual or whatever. He obviously just told the media about it for the attention. He knew that he'd get more people knowing about him and that if he told the media this.
He's a really good singer, obviously not the most amazing singer that has ever been heard by any means, but he's a good singer for X factor.
So he shouldn't have to go around 'confessing' stuff like this in order to get more attention. He didn't need to tell people that stuff. End of!

He is a legend!! His performance was amazing and his sexuality makes no difference to that.

Confidence and charisma and an incredible voice - I don't even fancy him and I still think he's the best! I have watched his audition about 6 times on youtube! Love it!
