Bruce: Didn't we do we££

BONUS: Forsyth and Tess
BONUS: Forsyth and Tess

STRICTLY host Bruce Forsyth has defied cuts on the show - by bagging his very own £5.5 million Brucie bonus.

Despite taking a 25 per cent cut this year in the salary he gets for the show he presents with Tess Daly, Bruce, 81, is still doing very nicely.

He has a whopping £5,545,613 sitting in his business bank account. And his company Bruce Forsyth Enterprises made a £370,770 profit in 2008 - up eight per cent. Meanwhile TV salaries have tumbled and fees have been slashed for professional dancers' and contestants.

Company figures show he had an extra £340,000 cash sitting in the bank compared to the previous year. Last month Bruce, whose salary was cut from around £660,000 to £500,000, claimed TV stars were paid "far too much".

But he is doing so well that he treated himself and wife Wil- nelia, 49, to a brand new £32,685 company car.

He was also paid £7,563 for accommodation costs.

I love strictly but in order to watch it without having to endure BF's lame jokes and the insults to the audience for not laughing loudly enough, I record it first then whizz through any sections which might have Brucie speaking. Alesha is a breath of fresh air with her encouraging and sympathetic comments but please, please can someone give her (and some of the dancers, both professional and celebrity) some lessons in grammar, particularly how to conjugate the verb "to be".
By the way, reading this comments page has introduced me to a new verb - " to of"...

... half a million to present Strictly - what on earth are the BBC thinking of paying this over the hill performer that kind of money ? Are you telling me there is no-one else out there that do this for less ? It`s a scandal and quite frankly i begrudge paying my license fee for such below average performances.... I think it`s time you retired gracefully Bruce and allowed way for someone else...

Every week him going with the stupid jokes makes me cringe,it's just waste of time I really cannot understand why he's there, and what he brings to the show is a sham. I have friends who refuse to watch the show because of him.

you are not worth that money bruce, you make me cringe when you are on t.v. our poor forces are being paid a pittance. and someone like you gets all that money. SHAME ON YOU.

Get rid of both of them and this programme which is just plain garbage .

What is wrong with this country that it is glued to this dross thank Christ for the off button

I've never understood how Bruce AND Tess Daly have both gotten away with being so average for the show. I don't buy the legend status he is afforded and she's just sheer annoying. If you watch the US version, the presenters are classy and have something funny to say as well as top presentation skills.

Get rid of both of them, there are so many presenters out there who would be far better and don't make a mockery of it all. Claudia Winkelman is the only redeeming factor to the series.

Your article says he took a pay cut as did all the dancers, but where did the profit come from , could you not of found this out from Companies House ??

Bruce you should of kept your mouth shut regarding the racist row this week as it had nothing to do with you . How much longer do we as taxpayers have to be seeing this over the hill entertainer do this show ???is there noone else who can do it?
Misguided loyalty i think on the bbc's part , i rarely watch it its embarrassing watching him fumbling his lines and constantly referring to his cue cards, and talk omggggg, no wonder the show was late running
last week, Bruce there is a schedule did you know that ?
