THIS is the terrifying moment Street psycho David Platt, face contorted with fury, attacks his love rival with a HAMMER.

The Corrie crazy man goes beserk when he discovers Jason Grimshaw has stolen the heart of Tina, the girlfriend who jilted him.

Platt - who had hoped for a reconciliation with Tina (Michelle Keegan) - plants himself in front of Jason's truck, forcing him to slam on the brakes. And when Jason (Ryan Thomas) jumps out to demand an explanation the Platt brat tries to batter with him his tools.

Joe and Graeme end up having to hold David (Jack P Shepherd) back. Then he does a runner.

A Corrie insider said: "David has loved Tina all along. The news that she is an item with Jason tears him apart." See his anger explode on Monday, July 6.

DAVID (Matthew Wolfenden) tries to lay more than his cards on the table - not knowing Zak Dingle is hiding underneath it.

The dramatic close call happens while the Dingle family are trying to rob the factory.

They're interrupted when David comes in with Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) and makes his move on her.

Luckily the randy pair quickly move on so Zak (Steve Halliwell) and co can carry on with their task - to help Val (Charlie Hardwick) claim back insurance from the staged theft.

SEXY Dawn (Kara Tointon) goes out the door just in the knickers of time as her fiance Garry almost catches her and Phil in the act upstairs at the Old Vic.

Poor Garry (Ricky Groves) has turned up to ask EastEnders man-of-the-world Phil (Steve McFadden) for advice on how to treat Dawn.

An Enders insider says: "Phil and Dawn can't keep their paws off each other - and poor Garry has no idea." See Dawn's great escape on Monday July 6.

COP that! Smithy and Stone go for each other after clashing as team leaders during tense training to deal with riots over illegal immigrants in Sun Hill.

But there's a deeper reason why Stone (Sam Callis) loses it with Smithy (Alex Walkinshaw). Stone tells him he has to come clean over his attack on Jason (Guy Flanagan). An insider says: "It's nail-biting stuff."
