THAT'S the gist of the devastating letter that will tear Deirdre's world apart.

Because gutless wonder Ken (Bill Roache) jumps ship and leaves a note revealing that he's sailed off into the sunset without her.

Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) is gobsmacked at first. Then she startles pal Eileen by saying she feels SORRY for him.

"He's always been looking for something he's never quite found," Deirdre admits. His new love Martha (Stephanie Beacham) is thrilled.

But furious son Peter (Chris Gascoyne) accuses his dad of being a coward.

A Corrie insider said: "Don't be so sure Ken is just going to throw away everything he has had with Deirdre."

Oaks: Gaz-bagged

TEACHER Nancy faces class war when bad boy Gaz turns up with a can of lager-and a bad attitude.

In the May 5 episode of Hollyoaks, Nancy (Jessica Fox) tells him off, but Gaz (Joel Goonan) winds up threatening her before Russ comes to the rescue.

But punching a pupil might not turn out to be the best career move for Russ (Stuart Manning). Fists are also flying two days later when Calvin doles out some rough justice to Warren, left.

Calvin (Ricky Whittle) is jubilant when he tricks drunken Warren (Jamie Lomas) to admit on tape that he was to blame for Louise and Sarah's deaths.

But his secret recording doesn't work and Warren goes free.

Then Calvin gets sacked from the police and heads to The Loft where the pair end up in a furious fist fight. See it on May 7.

Dales: Oh mother!

NASTY Nicola tells loopy Laurel that she's pregnant with Jimmy's baby.

But after Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) convinces her to tell him all about it heartless Jimmy (Nick Miles) insults her in the pub.

Then angry mum- to-be (Nicola Wheeler) decides to cut him off and deal with the baby problem herself.
