SOAPWATCH: Bashing for Billy in Enders

LOOKS like Billy Mitchell isn't having a very happy birthday - and Phil's to blame.

Everyone in Albert Square knows Billy's had a tough time since he split with Honey so they pull out the stops to help him celebrate.

But as Billy (Perry Fenwick) dons a regal crown and makes a heartfelt birthday speech, Phil (Steve McFadden) stumbles in drunk and starts throwing insults, congratulating him on 50 years of failure.

An Enders insider said: "Phil is continuing down his spiral of depression. Billy is the only person he still has power over. He's an easy target.

ANDY Sugden pulls terrified Maisie to safety after furious Debbie Dingle dunks her underwater in a HORSE TROUGH.

The two girls have come to blows over the custody of Debbie's daughter Sarah.

Debbie (Charley Webb) is unhappy that Maisie (Alice Coulthard) has been helping the child's dad Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) look after her. She loses it and things get physical-she even kicks Andy as he comes to his new girlfriend's rescue.

An Emmerdale insider said: "Maisie is shocked to get shoved into the trough. She comes up soaking wet."

LYDIA gets lippy with Sarah as they share a passionate lesbian snog.

Sarah (Loui Batley) has been desperate to get closer to the Hollyoaks blonde despite being given the brush-off a number of times.

Lydia (Lydia Kelly) finally makes her move at band practice after Sarah accuses her of not wanting people to like her.

But Michaela sees them kiss and Sarah ends up in a panic about people finding out.

HE MAY be 70-but it doesn't stop Corrie's loved-up Colin getting down on one knee to propose to Rita.

It's been a whirlwind romance since December for Eileen Grimshaw's dad and Rita (Barbara Knox). Colin (Edward De Souza) decides his birthday party at the Rovers is the perfect time to give her a present-an engagement ring.

Rita is stunned at first, then decides she's delighted and accepts. But later that night things get messy . . . A Corrie source said: "It's really sweet when he surprises Rita. But it wouldn't be a night at the Rovers without a drama . . .
