Carl's second-hand Portia

PETE DOHERTY seems to be on very good terms with new best pal CARL BARAT - they're even sharing ex-lovers.

I told recently how the pair had patched up their differences and were set to reform THE LIBERTINES.

Now Carl is dating Pete's ex PORTIA FREEMAN - and, amazingly, Doherty's fine about it.

Model Portia helped mend Pete's broken heart when he split with KATE MOSS.

But that's all in the past now, and she was on the arm of Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl this week when she celebrated her 20th birthday at a bash in London.

My source told me: "Pete's scene is so incestuous. No sooner are these two musicians back together, talking about collaborating on new material, than Carl is dating Pete's on-off lover.

"It was only two months ago that Pete and Portia spent a camping holiday together. It seems now though that she's only got eyes for Carl. Pete seems to be fine with it for now, but who knows, it could end their new friendship."
