Sony paid £40million for the rights to use 80 hours of pinsharp digital footage of Jacko's rehearsals for his ill-fated This Is It gigs at London's O2 Arena.
A Sony insider said: "More than 31million people watched Jackson's funeral on TV.
"If they can convert even a fraction of that into box office tickets, the film will be a huge success."
The movie will be directed by High School Musical chief Kenny Ortega, who choreographed Jacko's comeback shows.
The source added: "It'll be the best show Jackson never did."

I will go see it but it will be hard to get through without crying. I glad people are giving MJ the credit he deserves. Too bad he didn't get that so much in his life. I hope he wouldn't mind the rehearsals being shown since he was such a perfectionist.

I hope they put a Trailer out on this movie in the near future. I would like to see a preview on this movie. I hope they give MJ the respect he deserves in this movie. I have been watching his videos since he died and although I hadn't paid that much attention to what he had been doing for the past 10 years or so I am very impressed by the concert footage I have watched. This man really knew how to put on a Live show. He knew how to work his audience. He obviously poured his heart out in every performance. He was a master of the stage. His shows are fantastical. I really enjoy watching them. You can't take your eyes off his dancing. I recommend everyone take some time to watch his live shows (Bucharest, Japan, Munich, 1993 US Superbowl) footage is on the net or you can order his DVDs he was a very impressive performer. I'm sorry I never got to see him live, it would've been something to remember.

I'm waiting to see the movie and buy the DVD as soon as they release it. However, it must be positive on Michael as we are fed up and will never support people hurting him for their greed.

Hey come on, do not call him Jacko.
I would love to see that movie, but u gotta show his possitive and humanitarian side.

I hope that this film will be the truth and dont try to trash him like everyone has he deserves better for he truly was a good and loving person. He deserves for the truth to come out and take out all the bad things that the media said about him. His mom diserves to see that her son is remembered for the good things. If it is trash than it wont make money because the people are tired of hearing trash about him. I am 58 and he ment the world to me I am still hurt and think about him everyday

michael was and is still 2 good for kenny. come on he made high school musical and it was crap.

I trust kenny will do MJ proud but I just want to see the rehearsals with not too much jazz so that the doubters can finally shut up. A dancer and the guitarist has already said he was great in rehearsals.

Oh come on dont friggin rush it man. MJ deserves quality and good planning on a film, dont make it sloppy. Do your research and do spend time on it, may I suggest you watch the Jackson's series about how his mother met Joe.
